What differences have you noticed in the IPAs since Roger left?

So far I’ve had 5 of Corridor’s hazy DDH IPAs since Roger left, and I’d rank them as follows:

    1T. Juice Beyond
    1T. Hazy Daydreamz
    3. Plump Cat
    4. Noonish Sun
    5. Galaxyeah

Juice Beyond is the one beer I’ve had that both Roger and the new brewer separately brewed, and I noticed no drop off of any kind.

As for general differences between the beers brewed only by the new brewer, Hazy Daydreamz I’ve already shared my thoughts on (it’s great all around). Plump Cat, Noonish Sun and Galaxyeah are all a notch below but still very enjoyable. The major difference between the top 2 on my list and the bottom 3 to me was the mouthfeel and the amount of carbonation. I was use to both of those qualities being really dialed in consistently by the brews from Roger before he left. Having said that, my ratings from 5 to 1 is more or less the order in which the new brewer has put them out. The beers are all good quality already and I suspect the new brewer will have all of his offerings dialed in to consistently have great mouthfeel and carbonation like Roger did.

Corridor is still #1 NE style IPA brewer to me even after the switch, and I’ll continue to enjoy and support the establishment as such.

If I'm spending $10 for a pint, it better be beer! Am I right?

@Chuckdiesel24 Jeni's is perfectly good imo, but I don't understand the hype either (waiting out the door to get ice cream when it's like 50 degrees out, for example). I think it's just a combination of neighborhood (yuppie) and situation (Southport is the busiest block in the neighborhood, everything on that block gets swamped). If you didn't love it before, I doubt you'll love it now, but I'll give them credit for having some interesting flavors. They've also done collabs with Stone, so maybe we'll get lucky and they'll do a Corridor collab at some point?

I lived in the Short North when the place first started, which is a neighborhood with similar vibes. I'm originally from Cincinnati, so a little bit of this is just me saying "meh, this stuff is nowhere near as good as Graeters", which I'm completely biased toward, because the things you had as a kid are always better in your mind.

I've rarely dealt with lines at Jeni's. I guess the key is to go when the stroller mafia is readying their little soldiers for bed.

Was the Juice Beyond from a couple weeks ago by the new brewer? If so, that was money.

Sorry if it is difficult to see in quotes, but I basically quoted @dubo09 mentioning (on Aug 5) that this batch of Juice Beyond was brewed by Eric (the new brewer).

Color of Life is excellent ... the best of the recent releases.

On a side note, why the hell did BA decide my email address no longer was valid? Not sure what changed about their settings that booted my regular email address from their feed. Oh well. Weird.

Same here on your last point. This is the only site that has ever had the issue.

Looking forward to trying some of these new Corridor beers when I’m back in town.

I visited for lunch on Saturday and was still tremendously pleased with Hazy Daydreamz and Color of Life (and the Südhafen kellerbier). I would say the two DIPAs are just as good as anything I'd had at Corridor before.

Typically hit up Corridor for weekend brunch once a month. Might give this a try if it lasts until the weekend. Though, the description sounds really weird.

The last Hawaiian Punch inspired beer they did with Mikerphone was excellent.

I tried this at Mikerphone last weekend. Really more Fruit Punch than beer. Not really for me but if you like Fruit Punch you won't be disappointed... as long as you're expecting it. It's quite sweet.

Had my GF walk a mile to Corridor to pick up a crowler. Bartender tells her there is a new policy of no hazy crowlers, although they are listed on the menu. Some bullshit, will be moving my business to Maplewood.

The additional 2 mile walk to Maplewood is completely worth it.
