General question - how kid friendly would corridor be around 4:30 Saturday? Have friends in town, we both have 2 kids. Considering Southport for early dinner options

I don't see why it would be a problem; Corridor is usually a pretty mixed crowd anyway, and it doesn't get too rowdy.

I think you're fine. I generally try to go there more for brunch/lunch on the weekends if I go with kids, but it shouldn't be too bad at that time. I took my kids there at 6-ish on a Friday when they put a bunch of their BA beers on tap, and that was fine. So, I think 4:30 on a Saturday should be fine as well.

While not crowded, will it be crowded at that time?

I haven’t been in Corridor in a long time where I’ve thought “I’d sure like to have one or more kids here to try to navigate this crowd and maybe grab this bartender‘s attention”

LOL, It sounds like you're picturing 4 adults standing behind people at the bar, waiting to get our beer while kids maze through the fermenters and other patrons, maybe grabbing a french fry when someone isn't looking. That's not the case; we'd either be able to get a table and eat there, or, if that's not a possibility, go to D'agostino's for some pizza instead.

I'm assuming it won't be crowded like an hour before first pitch at Wrigley, but mostly trying to confirm that. Sounds like it's worth a shot, but you never know kind of thing.

(as an aside--I'll be at Corridor around 6, most likely; I won't be staying, probably won't even have a drink, but if you see a guy in a black FFF cap w/gray hooded jacket, say hey)

If there is a wait, we usually head across the street to the Amazon bookstore and the kids love looking at stuff there. It kills 20-30 minutes pretty easily.

Guys, there are like 8 spots in the beer league left, what are you doing here?

Damn. Couldn’t make it today after work. If they last through the night @dubo09 wanna put one aside for a BA’er?

Are people seriously excited to spend $30 to get a growler fill and and the ability to access a buy 9 get one free card? Or am I bad at reading sarcasm on the internet?

In fairness, if you don't go to Corridor that often, no, it's not that useful. But a growler alone justifies about half the cost, and that's before whatever free beers you amass, the 20% off merchandise, free birthday beer, etc. And if you're a Dryhop person (I'm not, since it's not convenient) it's an even easier sell.

For me it's just fun because I'm local, love the place, and love the staff. A free 64 oz. growler of their silver medal NE DIPA ain't nothing to scoff at, though!

Well executed release today for CJB cans. The crowlers and growlers we’re flying out the door as well. CJB is tasting great and good to run into both @eppie82 and @flat_lander while I was there.

The best/worst/funniest part was overhearing two people having a discussion at the bar that touched on topics such as:

    • Having to get 6 family members to More tomorrow to pick up BA Karma
    • Having their Mom come wait in line with them in line at Rev today, but having her wait in the car if the weather is bad
    • Talking about another city/state beer scene and how they don’t like Chicago people, but not sure why
I will now never doubt any level or beer shitlord-ness.

Maybe I'll check out the Chicago wine scene...do we have a good wine scene here?

My mom usually makes me stand in line for her second allotment, I never get to wait in the car.

Color of Life is excellent but I actually preferred Triform. A little more bite.

I tried Color of Life and Colorific. Crowler of each, drank the CoL fresh and the Colorific a week later and preferred the latter. Both great, but I need to try a few of these side by side. I am finding it hard to distinguish them from each other one at a time a week apart. I think an afternoon session is in order one of these weekends

I'm surprised to hear people preferring Colorific or Triform to CoL, but the latter is the only DIPA of the 3, and is sweeter, so that's probably part of the equation.
