Has anybody seen CCA hit the shelves yet where they live? I'm on Long Island, and honestly, have not seen it here the last three Xmas. Not even the gift set. Would appreciate any help in locating some, if its out already.
Hi John! We're Union Beer Distributors and we distribute Corsendonk in the NYC & Long Island areas. We just checked our system and it looks as though Syosset Beverage & Wantagh Beverage took in Corsendonk Christmas Ale recently. You should be able to find them there, but we would suggest calling ahead of time just to be sure. If you or anyone else has questions about finding any of the craft beers in our portfolio (which you can see on our website here) feel free to message here or at [email protected] Cheers! Union Beer Distributors
We've had 4 pack here at weis market in york, pa for the last few weeks. ($16.99) 750ml bombers just showed up this week. ($9.99) I love that beer!
Thanks you so much for your reply. I was able to pick up a couple of bottles of CCA at Wantagh Beverage, which is the town next to mine. Thanks again for the reply and for providing my favorite Xmas Ale!!!!! John G.
Total wine stores in MN have singles with a best before date in 2015. The best before date is 3 years after bottling! I guess they hope it will sell eventually.
In Danville PA I saw the gift set (6 bottles and a glass) at a Weis yesterday for $16.99. I'm still on the fence about buying it though, since I've never had the beer before. I like dark beers, I like dark fruit notes, but I'm not thrilled about coriander. This beer says right on the label that it has coriander, but reviews seldom mention it. So what's the deal? Is the coriander pretty far in the background with this one, or what?
I live on Long Island too. I was able to pick up a bottle at Beverage Plus in Floral Park. I know they were moving fast though.
Being out here in flyover country, I don't have any skin in this game. However, I really appreciate responses like this to consumer questions. Very professional, very helpful. That's why BA is such a great community. Cheers, and thank you!
That CCA was just received in the MN store(s) the first week of November 2016. That means the distributor delivered out of code product. I will notify the District Manager.
That's a nice deal. Might have to check the Weiss near me. Not had the beer in a few years but do not remember Big coriander Enjoy
Maybe get a single test bottle or bar serving? I don't find the coriander particularly strong and for me it just contributes a touch of spiciness. However some folks find coriander tastes a lot like soap and so don't like it.
I'm not one of the people wired to get a soapy taste from coriander, at least I don't think so. I've had cilantro in Mexican food and it didn't remind me of soap, and in fact I didn't mind it. But I've had some beers that I thought I would love based on the rest of the ingredients, only to find myself put off by an overzealous use of coriander (I'm looking at YOU, Unibroue...) If most people don't think CCA is a coriander bomb, maybe it isn't. I'll keep looking for a single serving.
Coriander seed is probably what is being used, and gives a different flavor than the leaves. More mild and earthy.
