    Anyone ever try their kirkland or kirkland light beers? Some of the worst beers i've ever had.

    My neighbor bought a few of their six packs a couple weeks ago for a party, I didn't think they were that bad! Nothing spectacular, but Pale Ale was serviceable and I think I tried a Pilsner(?), which was ok.

    Nothing wrong with that purchase, I got a bottle sitting at home waiting to be opened. Had a couple bottles from older batches and I keep going back (the Elijah Craig barrel proof)

    @Jason from their facebook page
    Also assuming you have Costco's nearby you can probably check with them. If you're not a member surely one of our fellow BA's would meet you there so you could pick one up :slight_smile:

    Apparently that's only the case in certain states with laws that prohibit it, according to this site:
    Also, one "Comment" on that site notes:

    I have never seen these in the liquor store. In Texas the liquor store is a seperate building/attachment (by law) and they normally have different beer selections than inside the warehouse. I figured that all the warehouses were configured similarly.

    If you manage to find it, try a Schierlinger Roggen. Nice example, and representative for the style (in my opinion). Very malty, no bitterness or hop aroma. I always found it curious how the foam had very large bubbles, not fine like a Wheat/Weizen/Weissbier for example.

    This box is tempting, but I'll echo others here - If this is one contract brewery putting out 24 different beers for different brands, it's less tempting than a collection of beers from various unrelated sources.

    Since most of these brands are unfamiliar to the average American site user, it would be great if someone from Germany can add a little help.
    @boddhitree , @Snowcrash000 - please take a look at the link above. Do you have any insight about this? If not, is there anyone from Germany that can be tagged who might know?

    Most of that stuff is really obscure, so I couldn't really make an informed statement, however my overall impression is that it's mostly cheap crap. You can actually find most of those beers on Ratebeer though, and the scores there kinda confirm this impression.

    The beers are also listed on here, albeit, they are a little tough to find. I could dig through my beers later tonight and locate them. I never rated any very high.

    I looked most of them up and while I can't find it they are all contract brewed, they appear similar to the 98 cent cans that have popped up over the last two years here in CT. Which is to say over half the price of the package may be the calender.

    I'm not German but I answered anyway.

    I almost bought this advent calendar collection, but thought better of it. I had a case of Sierra Nevada Fall pack in my buggy already. As for whiskey, I simply buy Talisker 10. This Isle of Skye beauty at around $40 is a steal...

    In past years, have people seen this set at a reduced price once December (or January) hits?

    I just got this as a birthday gift from my in-laws today. Because I didn’t spend $60 on it, and I haven’t tried any (I don’t think?) from the list on the side of the box, I am pumped to start cracking these open come December.

    I’d be pretty hesitant to buy it though if it weren’t gifted to me.
