I live now near Toronto where (I think) we have great beer, Ontario in general does I would say. But I also grew Up in Panama City, Panama and in the past 2 years I've been in Canada, Panama had an amazing beer growth, form 4 to 13 Breweries in 2 years.

My question is what are some Countries we don't expect but that have amazing beer or a bigish craft beer industries I'm quite curious.

I was really impressed with the craft beer scene in Spain this past Summer. There are some really fantastic breweries over there.

Japan's is also fantastic, but I don't think that's really unexpected anymore.

For all you traditionalists, diehard European beer fans, and those who were born in those countries, all the whining and fighting is just a tiny blemish on what is here. The creativity, the passion, the hospitality is all here.

New Zealand. Was expecting to drink a ton of wine while I was visiting, instead, I ended up drinking a bunch of great local beer. Add in that they have great local hops, and I can really see the beer scene flourishing there.

I'd bet some rich Saudi princelings have some secret craft breweries going. They're all driving Lamborghinis, anyway. You need cold beer in all that desert heat!

For a question asking about unexpected great beer scenes, you picked possibly the most "expected" beer scene

But for those who are in other countries and believe beer should have "rules", such as traditionalists in Germany, they would be suprised. There are people out there who dont like craft, but choose not to experience it.

There's been an explosion of craft brewing in Greece in the past few years. Small regional breweries (including a few on the islands). I was very surprised.

Have to go with Wales, spent a few weeks in the British Isles and was stunned by the quality and quantity of great little craft lagers/ales to be had. Yes, still think Canada is probably the happiest place for beers.
