Lately I have had Surly Furious on tap at two locations. The first one was a sea food restaurant that probably did not sell that much beer. I was extremely disappointed considering all the good reviews it gets. I would put it in with the lower rated IPA's. Not the worst but not even the middle of pack. Yesterday I went to a local bar that sells lots of beer and tried it again. It was marvelous. A really promate noise. Everything else about it was right on.

I suspect the first place with its low level of business had that keg on tap for a considerable time. It is an expensive beer and with all the down turn they had to keep trying to sell it. I feel for the restaurant but still they are probably wrong to keep selling it. Not sure what they should do. Thoughts from others???? Has anyone else had similar experience lately?

The one thing I do know is I will be careful ordering tap beer for awhile.

It was probably a keg they tapped in October/November. Not everyone unloaded the beer they had on draft before the second lockdown. Most places were offering 2 for 1, or even 3 for 1 back then to get rid of draft beer knowing of the what was coming. Some didn't.
