"C.R. Goodman sought a partner to purchase the company who would maintain much of the core staff,..." 85 [appx] employees out of work in 4 weeks. management, in-house staff, operations, drivers, warehouse, sales reps....all of them. no guarantee re-hires. severance packages, unemployment benefits. ...and so many questions being asked of everyone on how this is all going to play out. exciting!
From what I hear, of the approx 30 sales staff, they'll re-hire about 1/2. Breakthru will probably be slow to implement divisions (liquor/beer) with separate staffing, even though doing so creates headaches.
Gotta love the corporate speak..."we did this to watch out for our employees". Dig in to see what actually happens and guess what? Yeah, employees weren't watched out for at all.
When I had my on-premise place, CR Goodman were outstanding (Jeff Bubbico was my rep, his boss Todd was a HUGE support...). This was before they lost Avery and Lagunitas, but there were times when they probably had 18-20 of my 32 taps, and I was always big on saving a bunch for self-distributed breweries. So that meant BDC (Breakthru now), Elite, CDC, Republic National, and AB of Denver were fighting over as few as 6 taps. That's how much of a player CR Goodman was then (or maybe another indication of what a shitty manager I was...) I sure hope everybody lands on his/her feet...
