The only problem I have with ordering a Shiner Bock over Heady is that you can get Shiner just about anywhere, but Heady is pretty hard to come by outside of the Northeast, but you have to respect a man that knows what he likes.

I get mildy offended if I'm ever referred to as a beer snob, and say that I prefer the term "beer geek." And as much as I dislike beer snobs, I have an equal disdain for reverse beer snobs, those that only drink macro's and refer to micro's as "hipster shit."

Some of these guys act like I'm drinking sewer water if I buy something that isn't small batched crafted from high payloads of locally grown organic hops. I wonder if these highly rated beers are just being touted based on BA boys smelling them and not drinking them or at least consuming them at a reasonable pace. Part of my criteria for voting on a beer is if it is a session beer or has great drinkability. I've seen guys in real life sniffing the same glasses for hours, you'd think it was their first time drinking a beer but alas these are the experts bashing my favorite beers on here. With that said, I can admit that there are better beers than the favorites I drink.

We call em chicarones around where I live and they are absolutely delicious with beer.....and BBQ corn nuts.

Wrong. The correct pairing is Frito pie.

    Hostile?

Good thing BMC drinkers don't act like craft beer drinkers or crazy or make funny faces anytime they actually try real beer.

Shiner Bock pairs remarkably well with everything from fajitas to chips and salsa to chocolate chip cookies. I actually use it when I marinate my fajitas.

First of all, troll or not, this thread is gold! Second, is wolf chili actually made with wolf meat?

It's all about that hype train OP. Woo woo. Heady is a great beer, no doubt, but it would never make me stop drinking what I want to drink even if it was readily available. There are so many great beers out there for every occasion and food pairing you can think of. Folks need to get off their high horse.

If this is, in fact, a troll thread, well then bravo my man, you got me.

I have to admit that I've actually tried Redd's more than once. The first time I tried it was from a mix six I bought. I didn't really care for it. I tried it again when I was out with a beer drinking buddy to see if a change of venue would help. I still didn't like it. That said, if you like it, that's all that matters. Order and drink it proudly.

I'm starting to suspect the OP sells, distributes, owns, works for, or is in some way affiliated with Shiner. His profile pic: "I heart Shiner" ... His only listed "got" is Shiner ... His only listed "want" is, yeah, you guessed it, Shiner.

Add that to the world class level trolling regarding Shiner Bock belonging in the top 250 and either this is all starting to smell a little fishy! Is this the ploy from the folks at Shiner to get us to stop smelling our beers and just mindlessly order "The Bock" with our BBQ corn nuts?

I agree completely, the beer snob demographic is something I cannot stand and wish would vanish immediately.

The beer drinking community would be a much better place if everyone followed the same philosophy: Drink what you like, and respect those that drink what you don't. (That goes both ways too, BMC fans and craft fans.)

I live by this rule :

    Nobody likes a jerk.

It doesn't matter what you're into, or where you're applying this. If you're a jerk you'll turn someone off to your passion faster than you will ever know. If you think what you're about to say is going to come off ass-holeish, then don't say it or find a better way to say it.

According to the commercials, you need a mild head injury to enjoy Redd's.

I got to admit, Shiner Bock is my staple beer but I am in no way affiliated with them. There's no need to promote Shiner Bock on this site because Shiner Bock is already distributed nation wide. For a long time (80 or so years) you could only get Shiner Bock in Texas. Just like Wolf Brand Chili which is a Texas product. Shiner is now selling like hotcakes from coast to coast. Listen, I understand the allure with the smaller craft companies with their hyped up products, fancy labels and skyrocketing IBUs. There's gotta be a decent reason you guys look down on "The Bock" after all. However, I think most of you enjoy Shiner Bock deep down but since everyone already knows it's an excellent beer it becomes the cool thing to go against the norm and be a rebel (you're probably holding a Rebel IPA as we speak...).

I updated some of my wants, but you got to understand...I'm always in the market for Shiner Bock. I start getting the shakes if I go below 24 count.
