Thought I would create a thread for the Craft Beer Advent Calendar and Phillips Snowcase that is set to start in 3 days. I put it in the Canadian forum becuase I am pretty sure it is not in the US. Posts your thoughts on the choice of the day as each window opens and what you would like to see for December 2014 calendars. Also what other brewer should of or could of made a calendar?

    Post your list Kump!

I made one for a gift too - it's ugly as sin, but there's some good stuff in there (it's for magerob, so I can't post the list, but could potentially BM it to trusted, sworn to secrecy BAs):

We are doing an exchange this year - with a few rules:

    * Cannot spend more than $150 buying beer for the other party
    * Dec 24th must be a "cellar beer" (ie not from stores, from our respective "cellars")
    * Gag beers are acceptable, but for every gag beer you need to include another cellar beer to balance it out

Let's just say there are more than one gag beers in these boxes! Main guidelines were to try and find things the other party hasn't had... which is a much tougher job for me than it is for Rob, I think. Hope I did alright- we shall see.

Awesome! I'd love to do something like that next year. Love the idea of the Cellar vs. Gag Beers.

I'm made mine for 2 people who are only just getting into beer, so it's easy to find stuff they haven't tried.

Damn, that's a great list Kump. I think Rob will be wishing he had that instead...

A Christmas trade. Make your own calender. Hm. I love that idea...

I can't think of another Canadian brewer who could make a 24 beer advent calendar with 24 different beers. (other than Phillips) anyone have any thoughts?

Made my friend in Winnipeg a kickass calendar of US beers for $90 plus shipping.

Parallel 49 makes enough beer to have an advent calendar , 27 current brews on site ?

Even though I know it's going to prove to not be worth the cost, I'm excited to get started on mine. I did not pull the IPA's out, because I'd rather drink an IPA that's a little off its mark than ruin the Christmas magic. :grinning:

I agree with Big Rock , they seem to be pumping out the seasonals . Parallel for sure as they roll out at least 2 new beers a month it seems.

I'm sure I won't be floored by it, but still fun to dry an east coast beer I otherwise wouldn't.

The first beer in mine is an Italian - Bruton 10. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/15939/73300

I'll let magerob reveal what he got from me... but I should say, for anyone thinking it's too cruel a beer to include, I bought two bottles, and drank mine, in full, a few minutes ago. And yes it's made me feel slightly ill
