That place @ 35 & 1604 has Dayman IPA in the back ~$8 (gotta ask for it) and Odio Equum ~$9 on the shelves (bottom shelf).

Yep. DFW has their pimp thread, and Austin and Houston dominate everything else. San Antonio needs a thread.

I lived in San Antonio until 2008... the beer selection nowadays down there kicks the beer selection of 5 years ago's ass.

I'll be visiting San Antonio for a conference in late July. Staying at the Hyatt on the Riverwalk, and won't have a car. Any good craft beer options down in that area?

I've heard that Freetail is a place worth visiting. Is it worth the $ for a taxi there and back?

Freetail is awesome, but pretty far from downtown, so it might be a costly ride. Last time I stayed downtown, I walked to the Friendly Spot. Easily walkable, and a nice outside spot (which can be good or bad in late July!). If you can't make it to Freetail, its a good option downtown. Locals may know of other good spots too.

Or maybe you can find a good SA BA to drive you to freetail...!

Freetail is definitely worth the trip, however you could probably rent a car for the weekend for the same price as a cab from downtown. As stated Friendly spot is probably your best bet downtown or take a cab over to the Granary at the Pearl, its a small little brewpub with some good BBQ.

More importantly what are you going to bring with you from D.C.??

So I'm confused? Is this like a sightings thread for SA?

Spec's DeZavala had some yesterday. I got a bottle but would be open to trade it if someone missed out.

Pretty sure there's a public bus that'll take you right to the area around Freetail if you're not afraid of crazies.

EDIT: Bus Route 97 to The Rim. Takes about an hour each way.

Or 5 hours walking, apparently, lol.

Rodenbach Grand Cru draft should start showing up within the next couple of weeks. No ETA for bottles yet.

Unfortunately Grand Cru is only available in slims and they're crazy expensive, so no. But we'll definitely have the bottles when they become available.
