I looked through a few pages here but wasn't finding the right answer to what I'm looking for.

Next month I'm having a guy trip to NYC for a concert. We will be staying at the Hilton on 35th Street Sun - Tues.
All are craft beer nerds and always looking for something new and different. Does anyone have suggestions on where to hit up in that general area? Or maybe between the hotel and MSG? Won't be in the city until later on Sunday so I'm not sure if establishments are open later or not. Plan on hitting a couple places before the concert and pre-gaming of course.

Any places not to miss (beer related or otherwise) are appreciated. Also, must have beer suggestions to please.
    Thanks!!

Haymaker is stellar. Ginger man and Rattle N Hum are both within walking distance.

Check out anything from Other Half, Singlecut, Finback, LIC Beer Proect, Threes, Interboro, Sloop, Grimm, the list goes on. NY State is crushing it right now.

Cannibal is super relaxed with very good food. They're on the higher end of prices, but this is Manhattan so whatevs

Eh. It's a cool looking spot, good selection, and great food if you're looking for some killer meat dishes. But the prices are obnoxious, even by NY standards.

You should venture out a little bit further out and reach proletariat and one mile house, still within 15-20 mins cab ride from 34th

Without starting a new thread, and hopefully not hijacking this one, anything good near Terminal 5? Going to see the Head and the Heart there Friday and my only other time time there we were rushed and found an average bar kind of a far walk away

Note that there are two Rattle N Hum locations, both pretty excellent. Rattle N Hum West is close to MSG so it's very convenient for some pre game/show beers.

"As Is" is on 50th and 10th (~10 minute walk) from Terminal 5. Their tap list usually looks great.

Plugging here but WF Columbus Circle's taproom always has a solid list.

I wondered about Proletariat. I had marked it off my list because I wasn't sure how far out it was. Thanks for the heads-up.
Also, thanks for the note on Rattle n Hum. I had marked the East location down not realizing that West was closer to MSG.

Regarding Rattle n Hum, they're both real close. They're both less than 5 minutes walking distance. Haymaker is really close though. I'd go there. You also have District Tap House which is a little bigger than both and has a big tap selection. Barcade isn't that far away either.

I walk by that place quite often and it does look intriguing. I've stalked their beer menus page and noticed they have some interesting selections. Could be worth a look.

the beer list is always stuff i want to try and in the half teku size i can usually get through a couple in good "still have things to do" shape.
that being said they do a proper portuguese grilled chicken with piri piri (best i've had outside porto) and pour a decent sagres, so get a couple serious beers in, then treat half a chicken and fries like a stand up snack at the bar and smash it down with the appropriate lager. "if it grows together it goes together" is never more clear.
then go rock out, wrestle out, game out, whatever your msg du jour may be, i'll be there pre-ufc for sure
