I'm hitting up Myrtle Beach next month and was wondering if anyone had a good suggestion for a good craft beer bar (or even a good craft beer store).

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Paging johntangus!

You could check out New South Brewing, which has a small taproom where they pour some beers you won't find elsewhere (their brown and white ale are available in cans). There are two chain brewpubs: Liberty Steakhouse and Brewery and Gordon Biersch. There's another brewpub down in the Pawley's Island area called Quigley's Pint and Plate that has good beers and outstanding food (get the fries with gravy).

Your beer store is the Piggly Wiggly and Market Commons. They have an excellent selection of SC beers, and six taps for growler fills.

Good to see that some of the Pig's survived the BiLO buyout. I already miss our Piggly Wigglys in Charleston.....

Great suggestions here. I will add Hurricane Maggie's, Liberty Taproom and Crafty Rooster (in Conway) as far as bars go. I second the notion of going to New South. They just tapped their imperial stout last week. It should be around awhile. I beleieve they doubled the batch size from last year. Cheers!

    Thanks everyone!

Yep definitely going to visit New South when I'm there!

OT: Where's the best burger? I keep seeing River City Cafe mentioned everywhere.

Not a huge fan of River City Cafe. For a burger, i hit up Five Guys. Crafty Rooster also has a damn fine burger. I haven't had Hurricane Maggie's burgers, but their grilled blackened chicken wings are amazing. Of course the beer selections don't hurt, either!

    www.myrtlebeachcraftbeer.com may be helpful.
I always stay in North Myrtle with wife and kids, so no bars, I get beer at Pavillion Beverage, has a pretty nice selection, Westbrook, Foundes, DFH etc. Piggly Wiggly has a large selection, but a bit of a drive if in N. Myrtle.

Plus one on the wings at Maggie's! I'm with johntangus on the River City as well, it's not awful, but it's not fabulous either.

Liberty is always a must, but... The beer isn't as good as the High Point location , but I like the place .

Pig at common Market for beer.

Hey thanks for all the suggestions!

New South Brewery is great. Everyone there were super friendly and the beer was great. Got a couple of the "beer can" glasses. I tried their IPA, White Ale, Dry Hopped Lager, Red Ale, and Lily The Great.

Picked up a lot of good beer at the Piggly Wiggly. And yes the blackened wings at Hurricane Maggie's were delicious and they had Lagunita Sucks on tap.

    Thanks again!
