Hey all - going to a wedding in Mystic this weekend and have a few hours between the ceremony and the reception. I wanna have a few nice beers before I switch to whiskey (or whatever's free).

Looks like the Engine Room might be good, but does anyone else have any recommendations?

Go to Beer'd Brewing in Stonington if they're open when you're free. You can buy pints there now. Engine Room is good, but I don't know any other locations really.

I was just in town over the weekend with my young kids. We tried to go to Engine Room but faced a 45 minute wait for a table at 4:45 on a Saturday, so moved on. Not that this will come as a surprise, but Mystic Pizza has pretty limited options (Mystic Bridge IPA was unimpressive) and the Shipyard Tavern at Latitude 41 near the Seaport has the usual assortment of mediocre or worse Shipyard beers. Beer'd also did not happen for me, but the Mystic Aquarium was very nice and the ice cream shop right by the bridge was a big hit with my crowd.

If you have to stick around Downtown Mystic I recommend Pizzetta. It has a pretty great beer list these days (they usually offer beer from Beer'd and Outer Light, both local) and you can grab a light snack if you are inclined. Engine Room is great but can be busy and a bit expensive.

If you can travel a few minutes Beer'd (15 min North), Outer Lights (15 min south) or Grey Sail (20 min north) are all stellar brewery options.
