Anyone know any good Craft Beer or just Beer documentary/lectures out there besides Beer Wars? I have also Seen How Beer Saved The World but I want to know if there is any other good ones out there.
"The Beer Hunter" tv show. All the episodes are on youtube. "American Beer" is from a few years back, and is worth watching.
Frankenbrew is hilarious and enlightening in that you see just how humble the "humble beginnings" of the craft brewing boom of the 1990s were.
These are great, especially "Burgundies of Belgium" and "California Pilgrimage". The California episode gives a very interesting look back to the beginnings of craft beer in the US.
Definitely check out American Beer. Four guys (including the would-be founder of Cape Ann Brewing) visit 38 breweries in 40 days, has some great interviews with the brewers and some pretty funny moments as well. I thought it was a much better documentary on craft beer than Beer Wars was. Beer Wars covered more about the business and politics behind the beer industry, and American Beer covers more about the craft breweries and the beer. Also check out the mini-series "Brewmasters" which is about DFH. Each episode follows Sam as he travels around the world to learn the history and brewing traditions behind what will become their specialty brews and also usually covers a disaster happening at the brewery. DFH might not get a lot of love here, but this mini-series will make you appreciate their creative process and their niche in the market.
