I wholeheartedly agree with the friendly 'drink what tastes good and give opinions when asked' approach.
But I wish that the macro brewers played by the same rules and stopped offering free trinkets, using ridiculous quality claims such as their 'premium cold-filtration', and using scantily clad women as a selling point.
Unfortunate that there is such aggression to control the market share, rather than brewing for the love of beer.

Thank you for saying that. The different things part.

On topic- drink what you want, let others do the same. Kzoo's comment is spot on- to BMC drinkers, WE'RE the ones drinking the wrong stuff. I'd rather just enjoy drinking with friends than obsess over what they're drinking.

Good to see that these topics are no longer filled with people insisting we "convert" everyone we can.

How is it that I've never been invited to partake of your delicious smoked meats?
(advisory: St. Louis born and raised; BBQ sauce runs in my veins)

If I invited you over to my house, how could I continue to anonymously throw barbs, etc. at you and other Seattle-area BAs?

I'd wear a mask so you don't know who I am. Although I guess that would make eating the BBQ problematic...
I promise not to bring any Pyramid or Redhook though!

Of course, you could wear one of those big-time wrestling-type masks I saw them selling at the Puyallup Fair, aka the future Washington State Fair (booooo!). A number of those would allow for much BBQ partaking.

Let me give this some consideration. Capes might also be required. Hmmm.

Damn, that's kinda rude, I'm surprised you went back after they told you what to bring. Kinda seems antithetical to what a bottleshare is supposed to be. And Supplication is delicious but Rodenbach is still great for the style and easy to find, but maybe I'm biased because I can get Supplication pretty much all year :grinning: Sounds like your friends are hunting walez and not really tasting at all...

I answer questions when asked but that's about it.

It could be that they liked the Supplication more. (i've had both and have no wish to have either again)

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I'm glad someone remembers the Star Force. They saved planet earth ya know!

Someone needs to make a Derek Wildstar IPA.

I usually keep quiet unless I am asked about something. I get mistaken for an employee at Total Wine a lot so I have those types of opportunities.

I usually walk into a bar and find everyone who is drinking macro swill and hit them over the head with a baseball bat. This seems to be an effective means of making sure everyone is drinking what I want them to drink or they're not drinking anything at all.

Weird. The beer guy @ Whole Foods once thought I was a distributor rep.
That's when I realized I'd better stop hanging out in the beer section so much.

Do you swing a wooden or metal bat?

You gotta use wood. Those aluminum bats are for cheaters.
