Recently my wife and I had a conversation with a gentlemen about micros and craft brews. He said he really didn't care much for them because the taste was so inconsistent from one to the other. He said he had a Full Pint Chinookie IPA and it tasted nothing like one he had had before. Who knows the backround, but it could have been old, warm, flat, whatever, but my point being, One on the biggest reasons I like the craft and micros so much is the inconsistencies. Some are more hoppy, more malty, some do suck, that's the chance you take. The infusions and experiments are what makes it great. I would love to hear what my fellow beer lovers think on this subject. Oh, and by the way devlishdamsel
regardless of my avatar, I AM A TRUE BEER GEEK but I spend my money wisely on beers I love.

I have only sensed minor variations in a handfull of beers. BCBS, Nugget nectar, FBS come to mind.

I don't think the probably of dramatically changed flavors from year to year is a big enough problem to not like craft beer altogether.

Does he give the same excuses for not liking wine? Wines can change widely from year to year and that is what a lot of people like. But really I can't tell much difference year to year in my favorite craft beer brews but I probably don't have a great palate.

Going back a ways....but when Bell's went from the promising young microbrew Solsun to today's Oberon.
