Is there any place I can find craft beer in hyannis? I am headed over from Nantucket for the day and I would like to stock up up stuff since there is pretty much none here on island. I know I'm gonna stop by Cape Cod Beer but other then that I have no idea what else there might be out there. Thanks for any help!
The Cape go to used to be in Hyannis (Grain and Vine) but they closed up last year. I only can recommend places outside of Hyannis (Falmouth, Dennis). Are you mobile or stuck to Hyannis?
Luke's Liquors at the Airport Rotary might have some stuff, maybe nothing limited but at least some craft stuff. beyond that, nothing jumps out at me
I will give them a shot. Thanks for the help! If by some chance I can borrow a vehicle what are some places that are near by worth checking out?
If you're in Hyannis, take route 28 towards yarmouth, actually from the airport rotary you can get on route 28, and follow it for a good few miles and there is another Luke's Liquors in Yarmouth, it usually has a bigger selection. I don't know if its better but it definitely had more craft options when I would frequent it
The Lukes in West Yarmouth is a lot better than the one in Hyannis. The Hyannis one is terrible for craft beer, mainly because they have limited shelf space. Probably the smallest of all the Lukes Stores.
The Cotuit store on 28, next to Aubuchon Hardware and Rite-Aid, has a moderate but serviceable selection. The store is a bit disorganized and the girls at the register know next to nothing, but you can still walk away with a few bottles and a couple of 12 packs.
I was in there about two weeks ago and they had a lot of options. The person at the register told me that it had new ownership and they wanted to expand on the craft beer selections.
Glad to hear that! Was afraid I would only be coming back with only cape cod beer. Not that that would have been bad but was looking for some variety. Wish they could make bridge so I could drive and not have to pay $250 to get my car on the ferry.
How do you not have access to a car on the Cape? That'd be terrible! Last time I was at the Cotuit store, they had cases of SN varieties, DFH 60, Troegs, Lagunitas and a few others, plus the usual assortment of SamA, Ipswich and Harpoon. So it certainly does not have to be "Cape Cod beer". But when you're on the Island, go to Cisco and get an assortment of Woods and Island Reserves--several should be coming out now and most are impossible to get back on mainland.
I live on the island that's why I don't have a car on the cape and sadly I am not yet 25 so I can't rent a car.
