Mexico has great beers and many are German influenced. I went to Acapulco in 2009 and tried Indio and it later became available in Texas. Now I keep Indio in the fridge. I like Negra Modelo in a chelada. I like Sol, Dos Equis Ambar and Tecate Light can be drank all day long. Tequila (Hornitos), lime and cerveza. I like Mexico and will be looking forward to trying a craft beer next trip. My recent hotel visits, Omni Cancun has Dos Equis Ambar on draft and el Jimador Reposado and the bartenders are experts at sangrita. People look amazed when you get the sangrita. What's that? they say. They have a confused look when I explain sangrita. Viva Mexico!

I was in Mexico about one month ago and most of the beers that are considered high end or quality are imports, especially German and Belgian beers. I did not see any craft beers.

You get Victory beers in Guadalajara? Didn't realize they distributed that widely across US (and Mexico).

Just got back from San Jose del Cabo and am glad to report that Baja Brewing is LEGIT. Peyote Pale Ale was along the lines of a Sierra... but a little bigger. Bajandaria double IPA was frickin' delicious. I had my doubts when I saw a double IPA on their board, but hot damn, it was good. We also tried their killer barleywine, wheat, schwarz, and a couple of others... all solid. My only critique was the red was a little watery... but still drinkable. If you find yourself in Baja (and, why wouldn't you?), it's definitely worth the bus ride into town.
