Hello all. I am getting ready to travel to vacation in Corolla, NC. I was wondering if any of my fellow beer lovers have any good bottle shops/distributors/breweries/beer bars that I can visit or pick up some quality beer while i'm relaxing on the beach. Thank you in advanced. Cheers!

Sweet T's in Duck just south of OBX has a pretty good bottle selection to-go and a pretty good tap list for the Outer Banks the last time i was there. Chip's at Mile Post 6 down in Kill Devil Hills has a good to-go selection as well. Cosmo's Pizza in Corolla Light used to have a great tap and bottle selection. Heard that they got rid of a lot of the bottle's though. Hope that helps as a start.

    Prost!

Trio's in KDH is pretty good plus they have about 25 taps so you can grab a pint and shop at the same time. Tommy's Gourmet Market in Duck has a decent selection as well.. 2nd Sweet T's..

I'll be heading to OBX during the second week of September so this definitely helps. OP, if you can post your thoughts once you've hit the shops suggested by others, that would be great.

    Cheers!

There is a company that does some restaurant tours, a dessert tour and, only on Tuesdays, a Brewsday Tuesday Beer tour. Price might be a bit pricey at $69 pp but they pick you up at a designated location and drop you back off there after the tour is over and you get lunch. It hits all of the places noted above: Sweet T's, Trio (lunch served here: panini), Chips and Tommy's.

Also, don't forget Outer Banks Brewing Station (pretty good brewpub) and Weeping Radish (only tried them once, might have caught them on a bad day) in Jarvisburg (on the way in for the OP, I assume, coming from PA).

Here's the link for the Brewsday Tuesday Beer Tour, in case you're interested: http://www.outerbanksthisweek.com/e...tbox_events/ob_restaurant_tours/19512/detail/

I haven't done it yet but will be doing later this month.

We've gotten one response from Oregon, and the rest from points north of OBX. Richmond is way closer to the OBX than I am here in Greensboro. I love it out there, but it's a haul. Beer scene really has gotten better. Beautiful time of year out that way!

Wee Winks' in Duck has a great selection and better prices than the other shops in Duck, Sweet T's and Tommy's. I would reccomend going to Wink's over the other 2 unless you want singles which you will find at Sweet T's (they only sell singles w/ a slight discount on a mixed 6 but it is still way overpriced).

I've been all around the OBX over the years. Just came back from a week on Aug 24. I agree with most if not all that was said above. You limit yourself by staying in Corolla. Its great up there, but the choices are limited. If you want to avoid lots of potential slow drives back south maybe you at least hit the bottle shops before you head north.
    • I believe Trio is better than Chips if you want to visit just one bottle shop. I wander the Trios with a glass of Enjoy By the other day. I thought their selection was just a bit more extensive with a few more harder to find beers.
    • OBX Brewing Station was fantastic when I visited two weeks ago. Their Intergalatic IPA (galaxy hopped if you don't get the drift) is a must try.
    • Wee Wink's (Duck) is a great little store and may be your best choice up north.
    • Don't forget some of the local restaurants. Sunset Grille & Raw Bar, though maybe not a great, had a decent selection for having dinner out with the family. I believe they had some damage from a hurricane last year but have rebulit their deck, etc.
