Exactly what I was going to say. I'll add that someone who has to resort to sensational titles and uninformed rants about people's choices of food is a shoddy excuse for a journalist. Hopefully someone from Esquire or those other publications he claims to have written for have a chance to see what kind of ignorance they have been supporting.

No, craft is not dead. Is this guy for real? "Because I don't like this style, nobody must actually like this style". What an asinine opinion

Now I need to get my hands on some gose and try it out.

I do appreciate that two separate breweries have a "Gose the Gozerian" and another has "Gose the Destructor"

Now I want an Ecto Cooler.

I clicked, I started to read, and then I said, "Damn fool, I fell for click bait, again."
    I'm a schmuck. I didn't finish.

A guy making a claim that something is 'Dead' by itself is just kind of asinine, but the whole premise of his argument implies the only appeal of craft is the novelty. Is this guy like an undercover BMC agent or something?

I don't think I've had Gose, but I might have. Regardless, not liking the latest 'big thing' is a silly criteria for calling anything dead.

And lol at considering this beer important enough to claim a revolution dead over. If you want to claim the craft movement has jumped the shark, talk to me about the day long lines to get the latest Pliny. Still won't convince me, but at least it tells you people are too obsessed with a single release.

I hope the gose and sour crazy gets out of control so everyone shifts their attention to that and leaves the rest of the good beers to everyone else that likes real beer.

This story could have been condensed to "I didn't like the style, it was not my taste." Sometimes you need to go the Ernest Hemingway route, instead of taking a turn down Nathaniel Hawthorne's overly embellished lane. (Not a fan of The Scarlet Letter)

This article is hilarious. Gose is one of my favorite beer styles. I for one am glad this guy doesn't like it, more for us that do.

The negative reaction here is funny, in that if you leave out the author's particular emphasis on gose, you can see people on this site making similar comments about hype and fanboyism everyday.

    Oh, the effrontery.

Maybe just drink what you like? Or have a srtaw-ber-rita. I don't like pumpkin beers, so I have something else I like. Easy.

Probably because of the multitude of more German popular styles:
Altbier, Hefeweizen, Dunkelweizen, Weizenbock, Kolsch, Bock, Doppelbock, Eisbock, Dortmunder Lager, Vienna Lager, Pilsener, Helles Lager, Dunkel Lager, Marzen, Schwarzbier

Of course brewers picked the low hanging fruit first. Ales and IPA's are not tough to create. Then Stouts, a little trial and error and you have a passable product at least. Wheat beer, no problem. Lager requires a bit of an investment to ferment. Belgians took a little time but now micro knock offs are passable and improving every day. The gose phase is just part of the evolution of breweries run by bored beer guys, with a long creative leash, looking to shake things up and have some fun. Some of that fun will not taste very good!
