I always laugh when stores do that. I realize that not everyone has a few hundred dollars to drop on beer all at once and some people just want to tick it rather than have it around, but if you want Cantillon, don't sit on Instagram waiting for shipments to hit or put up with stores' bullshit policies - order it from Belgium. The bottles will be cheaper, even once you factor in shipping, and you can buy more than one or two at a time.

craftbeerkings store has a lot of beers to choose in the store and online. As far as i know the store is great awesome, people that tells negative thing about the store, they don't get what they only want like limited release craft beer. so to you fellows stop whining.

Thank you @ThatOneGuyMoe for being the definition of a beer advocate! From the 1st time I met you at the DDG release where we shared the entire Track list to FW this year, where we shared some great brews, you have always been a cool cat.

I can see how his instagram can come off as arrogant but he's a super nice guy. I'm in orange but the one time I stopped by he invited my gf and I to a bottle share and to let him know if we ever want to attend other ones. We also ran into him at the iron press. Cool guy all around

I can say from personal experience, Moe had been nothing but cool to me and to all the peeps from VCBeerSociety. We live 2 hours away but he invites us to his events because we all attend the same festivals, etc.
Maybe I don't have the cash to pull the same stuff he does but I'm certainly not going to hate on him because I can't get the same amounts. All that aside, Moe is one of the few dudes I know that will crack anything he's got for a friend.
I happily consider him a friend of mine, and will continue to support his store and rep their merchandise.
    Cheers,
    Juan

The big question that comes to mind is with only a certain amount of limited product being delivered to shops, how likely is it for a customer, who is not among the inner circle, to get access to said product? For instance, what's the likelihood of someone getting a crack at a St. Lamvinus after you've hooked yourself and your homeys up?

Yeah, not really related to Craft Beer Kings (since I haven't been) but I always wonder how things work when store owners are heavy into trading. What happens with that case of Hommage or Fou Foune when it shows up? Does it actually make it to the shelves for people to purchase or does it get flipped on the market for whatever beers the owner wants?

I did actually see Hommage hit Craft Beer Kings website so that is a plus for them in my book. Just more of a general concern.

    Ctrl + F "moe" = 22 results
"moe sucks" x3 = never met him
"moe rules" x7 = knows him/trades with him

    Speculation ≠ Reality

Moe is a nice dude, doesn't even care if he knows you or not he'll be nice and do whatever he can to accommodate. And, I'm not speculating from what I've seen on a social media network.

You missed the part where 28 people agreed/liked a post complaining about his actions in person around the local scene.

And it does bring up a valid question that if he's using his store as trade fodder as well as internet sells, how much is going out to the locals? I'm not going to doubt that Ramirez has a cellar of loonz as far as the eye can see, but they aren't on social media showing off that cellar or their latest whale trade they got from hooking up a trade partner with beer that a local could have bought.

Also, I'm not speculating either. Been in the store as I took a buddy knew to the scene get given the night club bouncer act when he was asking about Cascade beers that they had. Been at bottle shares where he and the CBK shirted crew act as if no one else is worthy. Been at beer events where even though there's a line, ol' Moe is jumping that line.

I wonder this about Distillers' Outlet, too. I don't get out there too often, since it's in Poway, and I'm near downtown, but I used to follow them on Instagram, and 50%, if not more, of what he posted was cases of stuff he received in trades and was for inner circle guys only, if that. Now if he did this at home, no big deal, but sometimes it looks like he puts it on shelves and merchandises it, and people comment and ask about it, and he says "not for sale" or "for regulars only." I'm not necessarily critical of it, but it's curious behavior. Something about it just doesn't feel right.

The dude at Distiller's definitely sells out of market beers too. My friend lives in the area and goes there enough, that he'll let him buy Surly, Heady Topper, etc.

All butthurt b/c this guy is in the bizz and gets special hookups and he shares them with his friends instead of the general public....cry me a river...

Don't hate...appreciate, then maybe Moe will share some of his 3L with you....

I'm confused. Is CBK a store or a beer gang cuz judging from some of the responses it's the latter.

Their name reminds me of Reality Kings, but instead of showing you what's in their pants, they show you what's in their cellar.
