One thing that I thought was interesting was when they said lagers were their pick for top trend of 2012

I can see that. Think of lagers as craft beer's final frontier, where the upstarts challenge the heavyweights head-on, on their own turf. Everything comes full-circle.

That is quite interesting indeed. I don't see it, though. The beer world seems to be sailing the good-ship-lolliHOP !

Some of my thoughts. I realize this is pretty beer geek centric and biased toward fairly recent development, but it seems the list was meant to be.
    • Russian River's influence with hoppy beers and sour fruity AWAs certainly puts them at or near the top of my list.
    • FFF deserves it just because of DLD.
    • Someone mentioned CCB earlier in the thread. CCB's influence with Hunahpu's (and its ingredients) alone should put them on this list.
    • Short's - how many food inspired beers have you seen since the fairly recent nationwide popularity of Short's?
    • Lost Abbey - Sinners Club, blended (particularly sour) beers, and a barrel program.
    • GI - bourbon barrel aged beer.
