Headed to RVA for a few days next week. Looking for shops that have local selections that I cant get in DC. Which is better: Once Upon a Vine, Once Upon a Vine South or Corks and Kegs? Any others?
What are you looking for? I would go to veil for cans (they release on tuesday), Triple crossing, and The Answer for crowlers.
Planning to do all three plus Final Gravity. Is there nothing else local worth picking up in a bottle shop? I saw that Ardent bottles and distros.
if you may be up closer to Short Pump / West End check out De Fles Winkel (The Wink). Love that shop. Shields Market may also be a good stop closer to downtown. They typically have some gems hanging around. if you don't get Commonwealth Brewing in NOVA I highly recommend their IPAs. Of course you have The Veil releases on Tuesday so those may last several days depending on what they release. And there could be the possibility of this Friday's Triple Crossing can release hanging around the brewery next week but that is a very slim possibility.
Given the parameters of your question, I'd say the regular Vine store on MacArthur. It's worth stopping by, but you will probably see a decent amount of distro overlap from DC.
The Vine store on MacArthur is good, if I'm looking for distro beer in Richmond that's where I'll go. We do get Commonwealth beers in NoVA.
