    Yes.

A craft beer bar is starting to form as the ONLY libation offered at my wedding...beautiful I know. I wanted to get a few opinions and suggestions as to how I'm shaping it up because I was given carte blanche as to what is being served so I figured I'd offer more of a selection than opposed to just serving mass quantities of say 3 different beers.

First, take pity upon my guests, for sadly, most of them only drink the beers that we here on Beeradvocate would only drink if we were given for free (some would even refuse). Although it's my muthafunking wedding, I want to be able to spread the good word of the craft beer to them and hopefully inspire a few of them to step outside of the 'electric sheep' box of the beer world. Therefore, my guests have been in mind in the selection process of these beers...I don't want to cold-**** my grandmother with a Palate Wrecker.

    Looking for approachable beers.
    1. Live Oak Hefe
    2. [Need help with this one. Thinking of something similar to the 'commercial' light beers with more umph! Maybe Lagunitas Pils, Mama's lil' yella? HELP!]
    3. My fiancee's signature: Lindeman's Framboise (of course)
    4. My signature: La Fin du Monde (It's in February)
    5. [Need help. Sculpin or 60-minute?!]
    6. Last but not least, Founder's Breakfast stout
Please guffaw at my selection, praise it, tweak it, whatever you do just let me know what you think!

    Thanks errbody!

P.S. Wedding is on February 21st 2015 in Texas...I'm new to forums so please forgive, what a n00b.

Maybe a blonde ale like Deep Ellum Dallas Blonde for that "commercial light beer" type? Maybe include Shiner Bock? It isn't terrible, and is definitely a commercial beer loved by many, and a huge step up from BMC. Or maybe Le Petit Prince, for a unique craft beer that is the definition of light? For that 5th IPA you're looking for, perhaps Community Mosaic? It's a pretty approachable and definitely a fantastic local IPA.

As for the Lagunitas vs. Mama's- my vote is with Mama's. WTK has a good suggestion though- Shiner seems approachable and not half bad given your locale.

Congrats. As for the choices: Lags and Sculpin. Everything else looks perfectly solid, except that I didn't receive my RSVP.

For your number 2, I would go with Hops and Grain "The One They Call Zoe" or Austin Beerworks Pearl Snap. Number 5 is easy, go with Sculpin.

If kegs are an option, I went with a keg of Northern Light from NxNW for my wedding. All of the "big 3" ( Bud, Miller, Coors) drinkers really liked it, or I was told they did.

    Congrats and good luck!

    5. Hopefully by then Sucks will be year-round. So, Sucks.

We'll also have Odell around by then, so you might consider some of their beers as well.

I second Le Petit Prince as something light and different, but not at all in your face different. I would also recommend Revolver's Blood and Honey. That one is perfect for just about anyone.

Light beer? Go with fireman's 4.

As for an IPA - try to get something more local as it would save some money (I am guessing) or Ranger IPA (seems to be easy to get in keg and decently priced the last time I saw it). Maybe 512 (no idea if you are in Austin).

    Congrats first of all!
What city are you in, and where are the two families being joined from? I'd suggest getting beer that are TX locals stuff, or from the regions the families are from if able. That way people can go back home and say "I liked that," or you maybe open their eyes to the TX beer scene. Keep in mind that more breweries will open in the next year too.

I second Zoe or Pearl Snap for #2 if you can get them. I'm betting you can in either can or keg if you plan right. Plenty of good IPAs in every TX town now, so #5 shouldn't be hard. Are you set on #6 FBS? There are good TX stouts around.

I'd vote against le Petit Prince, as much as I love Jester King. I think it might be too funky for that crowd and taste spoiled. Commercial Suicide is more approachable and still a bit funky, though some people who are not beer knowledgeable are off put by the dark color.

FWIW...I had Live Oak hefe and Fireman's 4 at my wedding (we wanting better beer, but we knew the masses didn't care. So, we just had bottles of good beer for us at the wedding).

    Live Oak floated first.

    Fireman's 4 didn't float.

But, there were only 65 people there. I think we did pretty good considering most of the people were drinking wine or were not drinkers.

I'd say a Hefe is a light beer. You could go with a Franconia Lager if you want another option.

Personally I'd go with Fireman 4, Revolver Blood and Honey, Founder All Day, and Old Rasputin. La Fin Du Monde is great, but is a bit pricey IMO.

Disappointed your lineup doesn't look like this...
    BCBS
    Aurelian Lure
    Westy 12
FW Double Jack (flown in overnight right after kegging)
    Everyone else can drink water.

I offered Live Oak Hefe at my wedding and even the "hurr durr bud light is DA king baby" people were drinking it. The keg floated.

Hell, I let my dad deal with the wine. I am not wine-o and have no idea what half of them are.

As someone trying to get a beer list together for a wedding in about a month, I ended up having my more approachable beers be Weihenstephaner's Original and Hefe. The price on both bottles is pretty decent and the quality will definitely meet my standards. With that said, I probably should have worked a bit harder to get the LO Hefe keg...

Going with bottles. It's a fairly small wedding (~100 people) and the only keg will be some sour blackberry homebrew. The star of the show should be the Atrial Rubicite bottles I was able to secure.
