If you just wana mix whatever tastes good then sure try w.e. you want. Black and Tans are suposed to separate then eventually mix together. All in the pour...
Ones I personally enjoy are Blue Moon and Guinesss Draught (black&blue).
Also I did Lagunitas IPA and Guinesss Draught. Turned out perfect. If u mix it right. Like to keep it simple.
The other day had Blackstone Porter and a cherry wheat Black & Tan at the local brewery. Turned out superb. CHEERS

If we're allowed to swap out the tan for something more vivid, Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout and Founders Rübæus.

It's whatever 16 oz. vs. 12 oz. works out to be, but yeah 60/40 would be a good estimate. It just so happens that those size bottles match my tastes, but the beauty of doing it yourself is that you can eventually customize your own preference.

I haven't even considered using the Fastenbier, to tell the truth- it's just been so hard to come by that I've been enjoying them on their own. The Marzen and Urbock are plentiful enough, though.

Had the Evil Twin Version, tried the two separately as well. Not my thing, too gimmicky.

Last time I made one, it was for the National Championship Game with Rogue Shakespeare Stout (Oregon) and Great Lakes Burning River (Ohio). A bit on the malty side, but pretty solid.

Many years ago used to drink Black and Tans at a bar at the base of Okemo Mt. which was Long Trail Ale and Guinness. It was pretty good if memory serves me right.

Very nice guys, thanks for the suggestions! I'm thinking of seeking out a nice caramel porter/stout & crossing it with a Gose...

I made this just Tuesday night. It tasted fantastic

I've mixed Brooklyn Chocolate Stout with Mad Elf and Brown Shugga before
Lindemann's Kriek with Fuller's Chocolate Stout
    Delerium Tremens with Lindemann's Framboise
Nugget Nectar with Bell's Double Creme Stout
Allagash White with Oscar Blues Old Chub.

I could go on, but you get the point. Get inventive. Break a couple of eggs.
