For those of you that are not aware, in Ireland you are unable to purchase product from a brewer/distiller/cider maker. Legislation was just introduced to enable craft drinks producers to sell their product directly to the public from their facilities. This would be a huge win for them as the Mega Breweries (Diageo and Heineken) are trying to stomp out the Craft Brewing industry.

Check out the link for info on how to contact your local TD if you live in Ireland.

    Thanks!

Hey sorry for the late reply, the bill has been passed, just now in the final approval stages. It is looking like later summer/early autumn before brewers/distillers/cider makers can legally sell out of their premises. So good news all around!

Looks like we're slowly coming out of the dark ages here http://www.thejournal.ie/craft-breweries-allowed-to-sell-beer-3516288-Jul2017/ although the caveat that you have to do a tour to be able to buy beer is frustrating. I'm hoping for free tours along the lines of 'There's the fermenters' but we won't know until it's up and running properly. At least it's a step in the right direction.
