With all the reality shows out there on T.V. about food and or cooking, why not a show about beer? There are plenty of breweries out there that would benefit from a little air time. I could envision a show much like "No Reservations" or "Bizarre Foods" where instead of the host traveling across the globe to sample interesting culinary treats, he instead could go to breweries and sample beer and give reviews! Think about it "Man Vs Beer" I would watch that!

Look up Three Sheets and Drinking Made Easy. Both hosted by Zane Lamprey and geared towards alcohol.

I would love to be the host of that show, accept the title would have to be changed to "woman vs. beer"

There is such a show here in Michigan called "Brew Trail" that has been on Grand Rapids TV weekly for the past 3-4 months. The person who hosts the show is a chef and a home brewer, and she visits two breweries weekly. She says that she is going to travel the country after she finishes the Michigan breweries, but I'm seeing some re-runs already and there are 100+ breweries yet to be visited. I think she's having difficulty selling the show to other TV outlets, and I'd guess that it's because the TV bosses don't think there is an audience (and paying advertisers) for this show's topic.

I would watch the bajeezus out of a show like this. I am already addicted to New Brew Thursday

Bourdain drinks quite a bit on his show, but the best thing I've seen him drink is Guinness, so...

I'm glad you mentioned No Reservations and Bizarre Foods, though; they're easily the best shows on Travel. I'd love to see one of these shows on a national network, but I'm not sure craft beer has quite reached that level yet. Close, but not yet.

There was a great series on BBC called "James May Drinks to Britain" featuring the guy from "Top Gear". The 8 episodes are on Youtube in 16 parts the first of which is They go around in a camper pulled by a Rolls Royce looking for the quintessential British drink. My favorite was the one were they went from Train Station Pub to Train Station Pub sampling a brew in the time it took for the next train to arrive.

Anyone remember the show about 5-6yrs ago when HD was becoming popular called Beer Nuts? It was on HDNet, it was fairly good and I enjoyed watching it to see what different cities had to offer.

Definitely great shows. I'm a foody, so I watch food network all the time too.

Man vs. Beer would be ah-may-zing.

Probably my favorite food TV show that flies under the radar is, The Trip.

If you like British humor and food, definitely watch this short series!

Three Sheets (or at least Zane Lamprey) drove me a little nuts in how coo-kie he was. Amiright?

Thirsty Traveler gets my vote, hands down.

I was hoping this would be better than it was. Pretty annoying as it went on. Though I just watched an old Michael Cain movie because of it.

Just what we need more reality T.V. I'd much rather see a show that teaches about brewing. That said if anyone wants to fly me around the world to drink beer tell me where to sign:slight_smile:

I think people are underestimating just how much ad money comes from big beer. Unless these shows are going to devote some amount of time to BMC (which I honestly wouldn't mind, what they do is impressive from an industrial standpoint) no staying is going to want to pick it up for fear of upsetting their meal ticket.

Think its a great idea that'll never really come to fruition. Best chance we have at seeing something like that is creating it ourselves, YouTube channel or something. I totally agree with the original post, it'd be sweet to get a brewery tour, see what's on tap and check out the food all without having to actually go yourself. It's always fun making the trek to a new brewpub but having an idea ahead of time of what to expect would be sweet!!
