I've got to disagree here a little bit. The answer is NEVER to emulate anything that guy does. The beauty of cable television is that a show doesn't have to be excessively popular for it to be successful. It's not the same with network TV - that's why channels like the Food Network and Travel can afford to exist. All they need is their core audience.

For me, It wouldn't have to be a whole series. I would love to see a single show, documentary style of the craft breweries that are out there. The Travel Channel always puts out hour long shows that rate the top beaches, bars, cafes, etc.. Why not a top small brewery show? If there is an audience out there for food shows, there is an audience out there that loves beer that would watch a show like that, and who knows, maybe open more peoples eyes to the craft world. I mean the argument about not having a big enough audience of us craft beer lovers does not make sense to me, I have never hunted wild hogs, shot ducks, or been a logger, but these shows seem to do pretty well. You don't need an audience of craft drinkers only to be successful, just make a good show and the viewers will watch it.

And to answer the OP's question, the reason we dont have a craft show is that the closest we've come so far is this alcohol show that did plenty of brewery visits. And this show could only do as good as HD Net and Hulu. So demand isn't there yet.

They couldnt' even keep the series goign that started with that Dogfishhead episode of that other show. the numbers just dont work with niche demos

Forgive me for my grammatical short commings all high and mighty spelling police ( or should it be grammar police) I"accept" the fact that you, Sir, are an incredible douche that has nothing better to do other than criticize the mistakes of us meer mortals. This isn't English class, its a simple forum where people make mistakes, but most important of all we do share a common enjoyment, Beer! So, dismount that high horse, have a beer and relax!

The final challenge in that show would be an absolute shit-show.

It's OK. I reciprocate and accept the fact that you, M'am, have no sense of humor.

If you're ever out this way I'll buy you a beer and we can glare & hiss at each other over a tasty barley soda.

There are (obviously) plenty of incredibly qualified women who could host a show called Woman vs Beer and it would be awesome.

Probably don't even need to say that, but then again, maybe that's still not obvious to everyone. Hard to tell sometimes.

I saw some show on TV the other day, and I could swear they were drinkin' SN Pale Ale. I liked that. I may have been hallucinatin', but I really liked it.
