What was the Moe rule? I thought everyone was pretty happy with how they do the ticketed releases these days.

A Message from Firestone Walker Barrelworks :

    Friends -

We’re so excited that you were able to snag tickets & will be joining us on Saturday, April 25th as we release Bretta Rosé – Batch Two & Sour Opal into the wild! This Liberation will feature some unique beer offerings that we haven’t done before, we hope you all enjoy!

Just a couple important things to remember, please read carefully:

    • Each person that joins us for the Liberation must have a ticket! If you purchased two tickets, then there must be two people present, otherwise you will be forfeiting the additional ticket & ultimately the bottles of beer.
      • Example: If Jack bought two tickets, then Jill must accompany him. If Jack arrives alone, he will ONLY receive the allocation of bottles for ONE ticket. Make sense?
    • Barrelworks bottles are NOT for resale – period. It is ILLEGAL to resell our beer. We have had the unfortunate experience of folks “muling” our beers then reselling them in stores or “offering” them at a high price online. We want to maintain the spirit of our Liberations & make beer available for fans for personal consumption & sharing, so to the mules out there: Please don’t ruin this for everyone.
    • You will be able to purchase additional bottles on the day-of the Liberation. Hooray – more beer!
      • Ticket One: You have the option to purchase up to seven (7) additional bottles of each beer. This gives you the opportunity to leave with 10 bottles of each beer, 20 bottles in total.
      • Ticket Two: You have the option to purchase up to four (4) additional bottles of each beer. This gives you the opportunity to leave with 10 bottles of each beer, 20 bottles in total.
      • NO PERSON MAY LEAVE WITH MORE THAN 20 BOTTLES! If you purchased two tickets but do not arrive with a friend, you still are only leaving with the max for ONE TICKET. No exceptions.
    • If you need to change the name on your ticket, please do so through Eventbrite. Please contact Eventbrite Support with any additional questions on that.
    • Beer MUST be picked up by 2:30pm on Saturday, April 25th. No Exceptions. If you are unable to make it to the event by 12pm, you are forfeiting you bottles & will not be issued a refund.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]. Cheers & we’ll see you in a few weeks!

I can see how that would not cut down on muling (like you said) but I'm not seeing how that screws over normal folks.

Did CBK actually list Barrelworks beer for sale on their website?

You used to be able to have two tickets per person, as the past ones either didn't sell out, or didn't sell out until a day or two before. I'm in a Facebook group where people would get an extra ticket for others who could not attend and would just get ticket cost plus shipping. You know, the way muling is supposed to be. BWX isn't against muling, they're against muling to resell in stores or to profit off of them.

This blanket rule change happened after tickets to Bretta Rose / Sour Opal were sold, and shortly after a dope in said Facebook group posted his illegally purchased BWX for $25-30. In said Facebook group, members include Jeffers, Sour Jim and several BWX workers.

Got it. That's what I figured it was but I wasn't sure. To me, that doesn't impact me as a normal beer drinker.
