Ive completed many trades yet I have never thought about opening up a fedex account till now. So im late to the game here so I had couple questions

    1. When you enter in the weight of your package can you estimate on the low end to kinda go around the system to save on shipping costs? Ive done many trades for equal number of bottles and box size yet my box (when dropped off and weighed at fedex store) always seemed to weigh a lot more (thus a lot more $) than the other sender's boxes (who im assuming are creating a label at home). Like 2-3 lbs difference even though number of contents and box sizes were relatively the same. Are many people entering a lower weight for their boxes on purpose to cut down on costs?

    2. do you get a discount on shipping when creating your own labels at home with an account?

If you bs on the weight and dimensions, they'll adjust it to the correct amounts when you drop off and you'll be charged accordingly.

    1. In my experience it doesn't matter what you put down for weight. Every package I have dropped off has been weighed and correctly noted/charged on the receipt.

    2. Yes there is a price break when you sign up for an account and print your own labels.

In my opinion, pre printing labels and dropping of through FedEx is the only way to go. It's much easier/cheaper/more convenient. I used to use ups (before I was shown the way). I have a RTP in Georgia and an average box would be $35+ through ups. Since switching to fedex, those same boxes run maybe $25ish. Plus with fedex you just pack your box, print the label and drop it off at the nearest pick up point. No waiting in line, no questions and no nosey clerks.

It is very easy and convenient. I guess the only down side is you don't realize how much you are spending until it shows up on your statement. It adds up quick, but totally worth it.

When you use the website to make a label it will give you the cost of shipping and you can pay online with a credit card. You would know what you are paying before you drop off.
If you go on the low end of the weight and FedEx has to re-weigh the package there is a $15 fee for that so you don't really save money. In the end you probably end up paying more.

You do get a small discount. The more shipping you do on your account the better discount you can apply for. Only really matter if you had some small side business that could result in shipping every week/day.
