    Yes, and in my view this makes American brewers look lesser.
    Can't make a world-class Neapolitan pizza? Uhm... ah... uhm try this BBQ chicken pizza concoction with cheese stuffed into the crust! Hey!

    While picking up my fairly tasty fish burrito (save your comments) earlier today, I passed a pizza place in a nearby food court and smelled a BBQ pizza. And coincidentally, at that moment, the thought crossed my mind (as it often does): BBQ sauce has absolutely no place on a pizza.

    Now those cheesy-bite crust Pizza Hut pizzas OTOH... brilliant! :wink: When are they going to start shoving deep-fried jalapeno poppers in the crust?

    I love the BBQ Chicken pizza analogy. BBQ sauce is so overpoweringly flavorful that you're gonna hide many flaws in the pizza, and yank your attention away from the subtleties such as the texture of the crust and delicately sweet flavors from real Marzano tomatoes and silky smooth high quality cheese. I can think of beer analogies already that bonk you over the head with some overpowering flavor and...

    I really don't see why the two have to be mutually exclusive. Most Belgian breweries are constantly experimenting within styles to create new well-crafted beers. Each of these breweries creates beers as their own individual expression and don't necessarily feel the need to adhere to style boundaries. I guess the opposite (?) would be German brewers, who are restricted in ingredients and therefore limited in styles. Both have their merits, and their time and place, and I would hate to have to choose one over the other.
