Went to the brewery yesterday. The tart cherry athena and automatic pale ale are fire!! Soo good. They were also bottling a new treat, not sure what, but can't wait.

Via instigram they are bottling the curious #3. Not sure how widely distribution will go or if it will leave the brewery since they can release beer "to go". Anyways, curious #3 is the best thing I have ever tasted from them. Hope distro goes to Atlanta... If not looks like a trip to Athens will be in order soon.

I'll be in Savannah next week. Any chance I'll see any Tropicalia there?

Alright so I got an Athens guy looking into sending a proxy to whichever exit we agree on off I-20 to make a Yellow Rose/Trop 6er switch without breaking speed...if this works I'll feel like the Duke boys.

I have yet to see it down this way. Every Kroger in the area has a spot on the shelf for Tropicalia and Athena, but nothing has ever been in stock. I think Athens and Atlanta are eating up all of this distribution at this point, with the occasional 6-pack making it to the Macon area.

One of the local WOBs had Athena on tap recently, and a local Wild Wing Cafe had the Reclaimed Rye. I have yet to even see Tropicalia on draft anywhere in the Savannah area.

That's too bad. What other GA beers would you recommend I look for while there? We get Terrapin and Sweetwater in NC, but that's pretty much it, I think.

Orpheus Brewing cans are pretty easy to find. Transmigration of Souls, Lyric, Atalanta, and the newly canned Session IPA Peace.War.Truth.Lie.

Burnt Hickory bombers are typically around as well. Big Shanty, March to the Sea (collaboration with Coastal Empire), Cannon Dragger, The Didjits, etc.

Monday Night Brewing bottles are typically around. Drafty Kilt and Eye Patch.

For local Savannah options, you can find Service Brewing Compass Rose IPA and Ground Pounder Pale Ale in 6-pack cans. Their seasonals are in bombers, Rally Point Pilsner and maybe Old Guard Biere de Garde.

For Southbound, Hoplin IPA and Scattered Sun Belgian Wit are in 6-pack cans. Again, seasonals in bombers and you should be able to find Transilience Berliner Weissbier around right now.

For Coastal Empire, the Savannah Brown Ale and Tybee Island Blonde are in 6-pack cans. Dawn Patrol Breakfast Stout and March to the Sea (collaboration with Burnt Hickory) should be around in bombers.

That's great! Transmigration was on my radar as well. I look forward to trying some of those other ones too.

I'll add Three Taverns to the list. Mostly Belgian-influenced styles. I'm a big fan of their Le Peche Mode, which is a peach saison.

I need to try some Three Taverns offerings, I did not include them in the list because I'm not certain on what would be available in the Savannah area.

We were labeling Curious #3 and #2, and bottling a dry-hopped brett beer.

All 3 going into distro? Crossing my fingers some makes it to Macon, the Curiosity 2 and 3 beers were my favorites at the anniversary party.

Doubt 2 & 3 will, there's only a couple hundred bottles of each. The dry hopped brett is more likely, but I'm not sure about Macon.

We did get Dayspring, so there's hope.

Curiosity 2/3 going to be released at tours as souvenirs? Or used for festivals and special events?

Drinking a growler of the Bibo Pilsner. That is also an excellent example of the style.

Are there cans readily available at the brewery in Athens? What is the limit?

I believe you can get Tropicalia or Athena cans at the brewery, and I have not heard of them being sold out at any point. However, GA law allows only up to 72 oz for off-site consumption as a "souvenir" to go along with a paid tour. So the limit is a single 6-pack, per person, per visit.
