Gonna be in Augusta in 2 weeks and I was curious if anyone knew any beer stores around there that might have Creature Comforts. I was looking through beermenus and couldn't find anything, just figured I'd ask here to see if anyone has had any luck. Wasn't sure if they distributed through the entire state or just the Athens/Atlanta area.

    Thanks

Athens, Atlanta, and a tiny bit in Macon. Augusta not sure about, but if any makes it in it's likely snatched up quick.

I've found them in really strange places in the state throughout my travels, so I wouldn't put it past even a random gas station to have some Tropicalia or Athena. I actually find it in gas stations more often than I can get it in actual beer/liquor stores (since it goes so fast when people know where to look for it). Good luck!

Highly doubt you find any in Augusta. I haven't ever, but I'm ususlly only there during the masters so would assume it's snapped up if it did make it that Eastern.

I have family who will be traveling through Georgia and staying the night in Macon. I know I'm a bit off topic as this thread is about Augusta, but a search didn't produce anything too specific about Macon.

Anyhow, I am hoping for some intel on where they might be able to grab some good beer to bring back to Minnesota. Based on the previous posts, this might be a long shot, but I'm really hoping to land some Creature Comforts. However, it'd also be great to get my hands on some Westbrook Gose or some Terrapin. What's currently available, and where should my family look? Any other suggestions about what they might keep their eyes open for? They will be staying in downtown Macon. I really appreciate any information you folks have!

Westbrook Gose is not in season yet. Terrapin isn't doing anything worth looking for. What else is on your list?

@rarapacz, check in upper navigation bar: Places >> Georgia >> Macon. I know there have been some threads in the last couple of months (i.e., not ancient) about what to find and where to find it in Macon. Safe travels; cheers!

Op, if you have a car, drive down 20 to the lake Oconee area. A lot of people stay in that area for the masters. The package stores and even publix at lake Oconee get tons of creature comforts. Lots of tropicalia--check cans for freshness.

In South Carolina. Georgia hasn't seen it yet. At least not the metro areas.

Sorry, I never pay attention to the names. One is right beside publix and one is next the the chevron on lake Oconee parkway right off exit 132? Not sure of exit number but is the one with Home Depot and Jamison inn.

    I'm your Huckleberry.

If they're staying downtown, Just Tap'd is their best bet. Growlers and a good bottle selection. They do a brisk bar business, which means check the bottle dates to be safe as some stuff sits on the shelf. They have Athena right now but I haven't seen Tropicalia cans in at least a month. Cosmik Debris came and went in about a day.

Growler Spot is another growler / bottle shop on 75 heading north from downtown. Smaller selection but more focused on large format bottles. Both are worth a stop, although if they just hit one or the other I'm sure they'll find you something interesting.
