I'm traveling through Atlanta on Tuesday and I wanted to see if anyone knew whether or not Southerly Love ever made it to Atlanta, and if so, if it's still available anywhere. I stopped at Creature Comforts over the summer and really enjoyed what I tried and would love to try their first bottled beer.

On the other hand, if anyone could share any information about its availability in Athens and where one might find a bottle, I could veer off track a bit and hit Athens on my way to SC. If it's still on shelves that'd be great, but I'd definitely be up for a trade with a local Athenian.

I have no idea what production, distribution, and availability was like for this beer, so it may simply be long gone. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

One bottle limits in most places, limited to 190 cases I think. However, I think it's got a second wave and is on the shelf in many places in the city. I'm looking for a second bottle myself.

From my search it's hit or miss in Atlanta area, some shops it's flying out and others there is still some on the shelf. As you're coming in I would suggest calling Hop City, Green's and Tower as a start. If you route through Athens it sounds like there are tons of it around, hit Five Points Bottle Shop, and they don't have any limits on bottles.

It's an excellent beer, hopefully you can get some.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll call around on my way into Atlanta tomorrow. If all else fails, I'll take the detour over to Athens. It's a bummer the brewery is closed through the end of the year, but the trip could be worth it yet.

    Thanks again!

I saw two bottles left at Ale Yeah Decatur yesterday. It's a fantastic beer.

If you can't get up into the city, Gremlin in PTC got one case in last week and still had 3-4 bottles left after I picked one up this afternoon.

Appreciate that advice my friend.. I might roll over there tomorrow and get a bottle. Need to send one out to a friend.

How much was it? That guy is nice, but proud of his stuff. Highest prices Ive paid around.

Oh yeah.. Tropicalia is on tap at Ace Beer in Newnan as well..

Christmas Bomb is also on tap, and cheaper in growlers than in bottles.

Agree on the high prices over there... I'm sure he knows he's the only option within 15-20 miles to get a lot of the more limited and draft-only stuff. He doesn't mark prices on his bottles, so I usually cringe when I get the emailed receipt. For some reason, I didn't get it this time though, so I don't have the detail on everything I bought. My total was $45 and I got a 32 oz growler of dry hopped Athena that was $8.99, the bottle of Southerly Love, and a 4-pack of Red Brick 21st anniversary. I'm guessing the Southerly Love was in the $15-18 range to make the math work on that total.

Thanks for the tip on Ace... I think I'm going to be down in the Newnan area over the weekend, so I'll have to run in there. Haven't been to his place much since he moved down there from Fairburn. I really miss his prices and selection!

I went in there yesterday, looked around for 30 minutes finally asked about it and they were keeping it in the back.

FYI they keep a lot of the limited releases in the back all the time

Yea. One time I asked about something in the back and was asked if I was on the "list". Don't shop there often.

never been asked if I was on the list, but every time I drive up 75 I stop in and ask to look around in the back. Typically a few goodies back there.
