For a brewery with such a long history in NJ it always baffles me that I never see them being mentioned or brought up at all.

Where does cricket hill sit with you guys? And why do they stay completely under the radar on this site even after 20 years of brewing!

I would have imagined there would have been more NJ BAs drinking and posting about the brewery more on this site but I have yet to see such. Weird, your thoughts?

Except for Kane and Carton no NJ breweries get much ink on this site. I have always enjoyed Cricket Hill beers and still do just less often. They never did get rave reviews on this site, Most likely because their brews were and are mainstream.

The thing, that is probably true of 90% (80? 75?) of all the breweries in the US, given that there are over 8,000 and it does seem that only several hundred seem to make up the ones that are constantly discussed. (Some would claim they're the "best" - yeah, well . )

As for Cricket Hill (my first thought was "They're still around?" :grimacing:) - they were once internet famous for that kinda stupid rant the owner performed at tours, for which I gave 'em negative marks. I also recall a beer they had called "Breakfast Somethin'-or-nother" which I avoided because I assumed it was a coffee-flavored brew. So, sure - buck the trend but know what it is.

Down here in Central Jersey - at the 3M (Monmouth, Mercer, Middlesex) junction- seems like I haven't seen their stuff in years.

Haven't had their stuff in years. I went to the ipa side of things and stuck to kane ,carton, twin elephant, magnify, Icarus, etc. Now I find myself looking for more brown ales, milds ,dark lagers etc as I've said before a NJ Schilling or Threes. Maybe ill stop in again as they had some different styles back in the day

Isn't this most breweries? (both NJ/non NJ). Most of my current local purchasing goes to NJ breweries that fly under the BA radar and don't get mentioned much, if at all, on here.

As far as cricket hill goes, I haven't seen them in south jersey in a really really long time. I couldn't even tell you the last time.

I used to see them around in bars and at liquor stores a good amount when I first got into beer like 10 years ago. Can’t even remember the last time I’ve seen their stuff near me. Maybe they cut back on distro?
