Just picked up some Crooked Stave in Cedar Rapids (Oakland Road Hyvee) They had: Hop Savant (about 8 cases) Surette Provision Saison (1-2 cases) Vieille Artisinal Saison (about 8 cases) St. Bretta (about 1-2 cases) The lower qty ones were $10.99/ea Others were $8.99/ea 375ml bottles.
I am not the most familiar but I got a bottle of Surette. Will probably want to try the Hop Savant at some point, too. Any others you suggest? Also, I was $1 off on the prices. They're $9.99 and $7.99.
I had the original batch of Hop Savant. Isn't this one Galaxy Hops? I'm not sure. I thought I remembered seeing what exact hop they used on the original batch.
I just got two of batch 2. I wanted one of each to compare, but they couldn't find any batch 3. I am guessing they were in unopened cases but whatever.
If anyone is viewing this in NE Iowa (or is making a Toppling run sometime soon), we've got a couple cases of Hop Savant (Batch 2) and Vielle (Batch 5) at The Courtyard in Decorah. Still have some Prairie Bomb and 'Merica hanging around as well...
I had a bottle earlier in the year where they marked #344 on the back in the box where the batch number is written on this one. Experimental Hop 344 it stands for. There was also a 462 that came out after that, but, I never traded for that one. I'm looking forward to seeing how this differs from #344.
