Anyone tried this before? Not sure if they ever had it out on tap prior to bottling. I may swing by and get a bottle or two to try at some point...anyone else?

They have it on tap at the brewery right now. I had some a few days ago. This is a different blend than their previous NoB iterations, and I think it's their best batch of this beer. Previous iterations weren't sour enough for me. This latest batch completely nailed the maltiness::sour ratio. Be forewarned though that the whiskey barrel is quite prominent in this latest batch, so hopefully you like whiskey.

Good to know. Was a bit underwhelmed with the initial batch I tried, personally. Not bad, but I tried it on tap and definitely left the bar with no desire to buy a bottle (which at the time was on the local shelves). If given the chance, will make sure to give this one a try....and I am definitely a fan of whiskey.

Great info, thanks. I picked up a few bottles but unfortunately didn't have time to grab one while there...had to just run in and run out. I may go back tomorrow to try it on tap, if they still have some left. I figured I would try one bottle in the near future and cellar the other ones for a little while. And I love whiskey! I figure I can't go wrong buying whiskey aged beer.

I doubt they'll run out of Nightmare on tap by tomorrow, but you never know.

I was told that Nightmare will hit distribution going forward - as will Origins and L'Brett. If I remember correctly, they're planning on distributing one of those beers every 90 days to the Colorado market.

How did the release go? Did it sell out? I definitely want to get my hands on some but my buddy won't be able to make it up to CO for a couple of weeks. Any chance it'll still be available then? And if it still is available, remember that all CS beers have diacetyl issues so you CO ppl shouldn't even bother trying to get this one. In fact, you really might as well just send me all the CS you can.

Went at 8:40-ish tonight, nobody was there, got my bottle limit and left, 2 min. tops.

Had cases of it left, although no idea how long it will last. L'Brett & Origins lasted awhile.

Was just at The Source. I picked up a few bottles, they do have a ton. They also have the holiday Vieille bottles too. The bartender didn't know how long the Nightmare would last aside from "a good while".

It's pretty damn good too

I am glad they are making a large amount of these beers! Being able to get your hands on some of these beers without waiting in lines that allow for 6 bottle limits was a great change for Crooked Stave. Look forward to swinging by and grabbing some here soon. Thanks for the insight everyone

I went earlier today to pick some up for a friend, they have a fair amount it seems but it's steadily going. No more limits/cash only either, so if you really want to blow some money, you could buy a case or two :grinning:

Interesting. When I was there about 1 or so it was clear the max was 6 bottles. Did they sell you more? I definitely paid with a card too.

I only picked up 2 more, but someone else came by while I was enjoying a Surette and bought 8 I think? I paid with a card as well, I think the cash only thing was for the initial line at the release on Tuesday.

I picked mine up today. Credit card is not an issue.

They're releasing another beer in a week: Batch #60 (I think that's the number). It's supposedly a more sour version of Hop Savant - a hoppy sour. Empty wallets unite!

awesome this makes me feel a little better about being a member but not really, they're also doing an evil twin collab made with citra, grapefruits, and I think clementines

Other than violet, when has one needed to stand in line for a CS beer? I guess zekes counts.
