This is my wives favorite beer ever. Her birthdays coming up, looking to trade for a couple but have nooo idea of this beers rarity ? Is it brewed occasionally? Or was it a one and done situation? And how tough is it to land. Any help is appreciated.

Only brewed once. Was part of last years Cellar Reserve membership.

What chicano said. It was one of the better ones released last year. Probably not hard to get a couple from the right person but I doubt you're doing it with shelf beers.

This beer is definitely regarded as the top 1 or 2 Cellar Reserve releases for 2013. In fact, I share your wife's opinion that it's one of the best beers I've ever tried. Crooked Stave is planning on releasing Raspberry Origins (not Dark Origins) to 2014 CR members, but the 2013 release your wife tried was a one-off.

I have a few bottles of Raspberry Dark. I actually obtained one through trade by giving up another Cellar Reserve beer (Cherry Origins). That trade was done 1:1. So if you have any other Cellar Reserve beers, you might try putting up a ISO.

Honestly, I consider my bottles of Raspberry Dark the most untradeable in my cellar. There's simply not many other beers that I'd like to try that warrants giving up a bottle of Raspberry Dark for. I doubt you'd be able to trade $4$ for this beer, but you can try. If you want to get the trade done immediately, I'd offer double $4$ - perhaps a CR or a BT for 2 Raspberry Dark Origins and see if you get any bites.

Other limited release/brewery only lands this beer $4$ easy. Literally just got a couple in the mail yesterday. Traded some limited upright beers $4$ with several offers.

If your potential buyers are willing, can you PM the OP and myself with the buyers who lost out to your trade? I'd love to get more of this beer at a $4$ rate. Thanks!

I trade CS reserve beers $4$ with people all the time. Not looking to trade any at this time though

It's true. I've experienced it! Great to see some not holding beer hostage.

    Thanks again Matt!

Lost out... haha. I'm sure a lot of people would trade a lot more than some cellar reserve stuff for BA upright sours limited to 124 bottles.. I just wanted a couple Raspberry Dark Orgins and dont really like taking advantage of people.

I opened one about a week ago, gushed and took about 20 minutes just to pour as it was throwing so much carbonation. taste was so intensely acidic that i could barely get through it, could hardly taste anything else. I have never had it before, so I'm guessing this was a bad bottle?

I have had a few bottles of CS slowly foam over, but never gush like a fountain. Are you a fan of sour beers?

yes quite fond! I read the reviews and it seems like I may have gotten an off bottle. I have loved everything else I've had from CS so far, just wondering if anyone else experienced something like this.

Can someone explain the difference between Origins and Dark Origins?
