It's illegal in Indiana for stores (i.e. bottle shops, liquor stores) to fill crowlers or growlers, unfortunately. I believe the only places that can fill them are breweries; although I'm not sure about bars/restaurants.
Muncie is a college town, I've been told there is one decent beer store up there. But as mentioned, no growler fills except at breweries.
