OK whats the proper terminology for the 32 oz growler?
I have heard growlette and grumbler.

I've heard both of those, and "grenade" too.

    I prefer "growlito", myself.

Seems like grumbler is becoming the more popular choice. Grenade seemed to be popular initially, but I rarely hear the term used now. Same with Growlette (very rarely hear this used).

That being said... I don't know (what the proper terminology is). :-)

Mini-growler. Some places are calling them meowlers, which is dumb, and I've heard barker used too. But, barker would be backwards. A dog growls before it barks. So, if growler is the first noise, what's the smaller noise? Purrer? Whiner? Mini-growler.

Minigrowler is my favorite term. Grumbler sounds dumb, don't know why but it does.

I see else where "howler" which just makes me giggle. I picture a large monkey on the bar

It's called a squealer in Seattle. I always thought that was a pretty lame name.

Where I'm at, "grunt" is heavily in the mix, though mini-growler and 32oz growler get used too.

My buddy works in the petroleum industry, and has to collect samples at the various refineries around here. They use the plain, round top 32oz bottles, and are known in his industry as "Boston Rounds". I will not use that term, cuz fuck the Red Sux.

Not that we don't already know this.. But even with crowlers we have it made in PDX. I'm sitting at a craft beer bar in traverse city MI and they are filling crowlers of Stella Artois for $11. What. The. Actual. Fuck. :grimacing::confused:

Thanks for not ripping us off PDX crowlers fillers

Full disclosure I am going to buy a Shorts IPA crowlers for $10, however that still equates to about an $18 64oz growler by PDX standards. Wacky.

What might an equivalent NW IPA be?

JUst going by how well rated ..maybe Pallet Jack..i can get that for around $14 a growler..a little more "fancy" Almanac IPA at $15.
I just think craft beer is more exspensive for some unknown reason anywhere else except here in the PNW.

Now w/ the advent of crowlers, I won't bother w/ grenades. Soon I'll have my pressurized growler, & especially @ Hawthorne Freddie's it's a better buy to get a 64 oz. fill. Just need a can cap for excursions w/ those oil cans.

Chucks CD (via instagram) says they'll have the crowler machine up and running in the next few days :grinning:

A "Boston Round" sounds like Red Sox fan detritus...

Just saw some Stickmen crowlers of F-Bomb @ Imperial (whilst filling a growler of pFriem's Dank IPA)! Great idea for the breweries to initiate the packaging!

Boneyard just announced on FB they're getting a Crowler machine. IMO, their tasting room is the ideal scenario for a Crowler: draft-only brewery with a tiny retail space.
