I read the price is around $4K for the seamer, which doesn't seem all that expensive to me for even a small business since it generates revenue. No idea what the can cost is, but I'm guessing it's pennies per can in bulk. The places near me do not upcharge over a 32oz growler fill.

Your avatar taunts me! Fortunately, I've got a couple of friends in town for the Phish show.....

Back OT, only one place near me has installed a crowler machine, and it's a store I don't generally shop at, so I have no idea how their pricing is. But, they tend to be expensive on other things, and they seem not to miss a chance to charge for things, they might charge for the can.

Oskar Blues gives free crowlers and better prices on crowlers than pours in the taproom.

That's the going rate. Crowler's for me are good if you live in California and don't want to have 20 different growlers because most breweries only fill theirs. So instead of spending $10 on a growler I am using once a year I'll get a a crowler. Not sure I would buy them from my local brewery unless they were better priced than tap room pours or close and don't bottle that specific beer.

Lots of places won't fill stainless steel growlers, without that limitation I'd have a few of those stainless ones as well.

That feels like the right answer to me! I've never held on to a crowler for more than a couple days - longest I think ever was a crowler of Lunch and it made it maybe 3 days (?) before I couldn't hold out anymore.

Easier said than done when you have 200 + beers. I can't drink them all as quick as I would like...especially considering its Summer time and I've got that IPA thirst going on!
