I would consider giving them some love...or less hate...if they put out a post-Davis beer that people loved.

So Charter Oak just came out with their Wadsworth's IPA, any tried it? If so, how do you feel about it?

Completely agree with you. Misty Mountain is my current beer of choice for an everyday/local brew. Big fan of it. Drinks like an IIPA IMO

I've seen it and passed on it on tap a few times now. Need to give it a try.

I hit Shebeen this weekend for a tasting. Really enjoyed the experience. Beers were good (nothing amazing but saw potential), space was cool, and enjoyed chatting with the owner. Favorites were the Royal IPA and the grape saison.

To jump back in on ratings: I use it as a general guide, before-hand, if I'm about to shell out $8 on a 750. If the ratings are just OK or worse, then I'm not going to waste my time and, more importantly, money. However, if the ratings are at least "good" (knowing that people overrate, but therefore the beer is probably still, at the very least, "OK"), then I don't mind giving it a try.

I'm still going to rate it based on my own personal judgment, but it definitely helps purchases. With all the IPAs and DIPAs out there, I might not have tried Hoptimum for quite a while. After reading the reviews and looking at the scores, I figured, hey, it's fresh right now, and people seem to be very, VERY pleased. You know what? So was I, and now I'll be going back out for at least another 4 pack, instead of trying something else and watching the Hoptimum disappear from the shelves.
