Was hoping for some help, the lady wants to go to dinner on the beach somewhere Friday. Like any other time I leave my house for any circumstance, I need to know what's the best beer around. Looking to go anywhere from Branford-mystic. She just wants dinner at a resturant on the beach. I just want to be enjoying the best beers I can while paying way to much for small portions of mediocre seafood! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!! Cheers!!

Not gonna lie, satisfying both is pretty tough. I am admittedly from way down the coast in Fairfield, but this is something I have sought out as well. Mystic is great for scratching both itches, but unfortunately not at the same time. Me personally, I would go to Red36 for dinner and then hit The Engine Room for drinks after.

You'll probably have to do a restaurant for her needs and a bar for yours. I can't think off the top of my head an amazing seafood restaurant on the beach that serves the best beer. Not saying they are mutually exclusive, just very, very rare.

Check out for dining: Sam's Dockside, Nellie Greens, or Lenny's in Branford. The 3 breweries are pretty close by. There's also the very famous Bill's Seafood in Westbrook. I haven't been there but some folks have mentioned Fresh Salt in Old Saybrook, more upscale dining there. There's also the 2 lobster joints in Noank: Abbot's and Ford's (BYOB, so you can get a growler at Beer'd and head there). The Engine Room in Mystic gets mentioned here a lot for beer and food, as CayseyW said above.
