Looking for a place to watch the game tonight (with little kids in tow). Food would be great but I suppose most taprooms you can carry in. Any suggestions?

    Alary's is offering $3 Old Style cans all-night.

Edit: I just saw the part about the kids. Alary's ain't all that kid-friendly come to think of it . . . :slight_frown:

I know that they'd begun to make an effort to bring the tap selection up to par a few years back, and this seems like a continuation of that effort. Downtown -especially Lowertown- St. Paul has been and is really being transformed in recent years.

From my experience about a year ago, the Alary's waitstaff makes the Hooters waitstaff look incredibly modest. I hope they start cleaning taplines and dumping year-old kegs of seasonals. Having a pack of heavily-over served cops does not help either.

I have not been back to Alary's in years, I think the last time was for the Bears Superbowl. I started going there in 1998 to watch games and they had more clothes on then, but not by much and there were only a few cop doors, maybe a dozen. During those years, there were very few Bears fans there, Lil Dittys in the MOA still was open and had the Bears games on.

Still remember Al the dad sitting at the end of the bar and Al Jr hitting on the staff. I drank lots of Mich Light and bar pizza there. Part of me is gonna miss the "old Alarys", but now I can bring my family for a game someday.
