I don't think I'm too good for anything. I've just never been interested in what other people were doing. Actually, I do think I'm too good to care what they're doing. Everybody's too good to care what other people are doing. Kinda sad so many people don't accept that.

Twitter is the only thing worth while. For info on brewery and shop releases. Im not interested in people bragging about hauls and non whale whales. That's what is ruining beer.

    Instagram?

That's that app where you can put your pictures out on the line, right?

As far as social media, I only use Instagram and Untappd. Instagram is a great was to find beer, whether it's a bottle release at a brewery or a bottle shop posting a picture of what's new at the store. I've met some cool people through Instagram and have set up some nice trades as well.

Eventually we'll hear about a DUI manslaughter case sealed by the multiple posts of "what I'm drinking now" posts just before the incident....

Instagram is pretty cool because many breweries use it to send out news and the like. Besides BA, I find out about a lot of new releases via Instagram. It's become a very useful tool because I don't use it for the social aspect of "social media" and only follow some breweries.

Oh man, I don't know how mj_szydlowski's page hasn't been mentioned yet. By far the best account that I've come across from a photography standpoint. He doesn't post as much as he used to unfortunately, but yeah, go follow him.

I know I have used Instagram to make several contacts the world over for cycling. I imagine the same could be said for beer. It's a great platform for all of that, and seeing delicious pictures. That said, I don't follow any beer accounts. I check my Instagram about once every two weeks, and my Twitter even less as they were both taking up too much of my time at one point.

Just looking at Untappd, a user posted from a local taproom last night and within a couple of hours they posted ratings on 5 different beers, one macro and four craft. Presuming the craft were higher ABV, I hope she wasn't driving or that it was a flight or samples.

I was so standoffish towards the internet in general until I finally really got into it. Once you get the hang of facebook you will find hoards of pages and groups devoted to anything you are interested in. I do not care for untappd as it does not offer me the reviews, discussion and camaraderie that this site does. But BA is also a site where people merge and combine their hobbies with beer so that threads like WBAYDN become almost addictive. The community that you can find on the internet can be a very real and very positive influence in your life. I do not tweet or use instagram.

I think Instagram is great for following breweries and bottle shops. I follow a number to keep up-to-date on what is coming out/arrived or what is on-tap when visiting breweries.

When I first used it I followed various users that simply post pictures of their hauls or what they were drinking. I stopped following almost off of them. I found it incredibly boring to look at the same picture of a beer bottle/can next to a glass with comments like "awesome" or "meh" with no other descriptors.

I generally dislike Instagram and twitter because I enjoy discussion of beer. I know what beer looks like, a picture doesn't tell me a damn thing. I'd rather know what's good, what's bad, what might be better, age, etc. Woo-hoo, great, somebody put a picture of a bottle, leave me out.

I mostly just browse it for brewery/bottle shop releases. Haven't posted anything and don't plan to.
