Yes, I stated probably infection but I wouldn't rule out a batch being bottled before fermentation is complete, mistakes happen all the time. Regardless, it's not worth fretting too much about. Still curious to see which brewery's beer did this.

    Cheers!

I had two Russian River Damnation Batch 23 bottles do this to me, but pretty much not before or since, with different beers.

Happens to me here (I also live in CO) also. It's different breweries and it's not every bottle in the same batch (case). I have noticed that it's beers that have been lying on their side in the fridge that seem to be the gushers. I don't know if that has anything to do with it but those are the only ones that gush on me.

Nah, I got the joke. Guess my fridge is broken too.

FWIW, I just did a search of my reviews for the text "gush" and the following beers came up:
    Noblesse Extra-Ordinaire
    Stillwater Cellar Door
    Stillwater Of Love & Regret
Stillwater Cellar Door - Barrel Aged Series - Oak Wine Barrels
    Chimay Red
    St. Bernardus Dubbel

I also mentioned in my reviews when the head started to "peek" out of the neck of the bottle before I even started pouring (a mini-gusher, or at least highly carbonated):
    DFH Sah'Tea
    Jolly Pumpkin E.S. Bam
    Ayinger Celebrator
    Struise Black Albert
    Aventinus Eisbock
    St. Bernardus Tripel
    Boulevard Saison-Brett

So clearly this phenomenon is not all that rare.

As far as what "Belgians" means, I thought it was obvious that I was talking about Belgian-style beers. Sorry if I confused you.

There is a direct correlation of how many rarez, whalez, sourz, and one-offz someone buys to how many gushers they get. Haven't had one in about 5-6 years at least, but its been at least that long since I stopped being a ticker.

I had it happen with a Sam Adam's Octoberfest the other night.

Generally, I've seen this happen with some beers with wild yeasts. Upland Lambics have gushed on me, pretty significantly in some cases if they haven't been refrigerated for several hours.
