Is asking for a Black Tuesday to steep for a CBH??

IMHO no. While BT costs more, Better Half is rare by comparison and will continue to become more so.

Would you do it lowbit or hold on to the CBH??

I've got both, but given the choice I'd likely hold on to (and eventually drink) the Better Half. Black Tuesday is great beer, but so is Better Half and I think there are more alternatives similar to BT than to CBH.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll follow it. Hadn't thought about it that way. Many huge imperial stouts but only one CBH.

its all personal preference, and as much as I love CBH, it does not compare to BT..It just doesnt...If you can find someone to go $4$ id do it in a heartbeat..

Problem with this is you can find something else to trade for BT pretty easily. Hell, you can almost certainly trade BCBS for BT. Or, since the OP is from Ohio, plenty of desirable Ohio beers or other Founders beers will pull it (KBS, Breakfast Stout, etc). BT is made every year and I've never had trouble getting it for limited shelf beers. Many people that get it get a lot of it.

Trade something else for it that you can get more of if you want. You can't get more Better Half.
