I just popped a bottle of this yesterday at a bottle share and it had an overwhelming taste of mint. I could bearly recognize maple, bourbon, or any other notes. I am just wondering if anyone else had this experience or is anyone had thoughts on why this might have happened?

We opened one two weeks ago. I did not get any mint notes, but that beer was all over the place. The barrel was present, but I didnt get as much maltiness as expected. It was definitely odd, almost wish I wouldnt have traded for it.

Never had CBH fresh, but a group of friends and I opened a bottle about a week and a half ago and absolutely loved it. That and Mexican Cake were the clear winners in a big tasting we held. I dont think any of us detected a mint flavor, but there was some bourbon left, sweet syrup, vanilla and honey. Very mellow. The maple was minimal at best.

I had one fresh and one a couple of months ago. I liked it a lot fresh, but thought it was a touch on the hot side. A couple of months ago, it was a beautiful beer. If I had to guess, I'd say it's at its peak. Not even the slightest hint of mint in either bottle. I have been noticing slight hints of mint in some DIPAs lately, so I think I'm becoming more sensitive to the flavour.
