haha I know... I was thinking a different dinner with the ipas, but I planned the beer before I found out what she wanted to eat (maybe a bad idea). We'll probably wait a bit after dinner to make sure our palates are clean. Either way!

Sweetwater's Happy Ending, its one of my favorite winter seasonals. One of the hoppiest IS's out there IMO. Something about that beer just does it for me.

This unseasonably warm weather in the Midwest is messing with my cravings, but hey, it beats snow. Kind of thinking about a nice Hefenweiss, poured into a Weiss flute, garnished with a lemon slice.

For the first time ever I think I'm burned out on stouts, fortunately I have fridge full of hoppy beers. All Day IPA, Double Trouble, Zombie Dust, and just picked up some Aprihop today. Though if it stays warm like this I might have to go in search of a nice hefe.

Just got through the Sam Adams Brewmaster variety pack, and everything besides the Irish Red and Mighty Oak Ale went down incredibly easy with this warm weather. Thinking about buying another box.

That said, I'm truly jonesin' for some Hunahpu. Got a bottle and it's all I can do to drink other stuff for 2.5 months until my son is born. I'll be the proudest, happiest, and for a little while, drunkest new father in Tampa Bay.

Isn't that 50% of the beers that are in the pack or is it six beers two a piece ?

The latter, so 33%. It's not like they're undrinkable or anything, just not as good.

I agree and bought some for the cellar. I think its going to be great when the hops fade a bit.

I usually look forward to fall and winter. Stouts and barleywines were just made for cold weather. However, Philadelphia got fucked in the ass by the freight train that is Mother Nature...and outside of a freak snowfall on Halloween....it never WAS winter. The robins came back by march, and the daffodils out front pushed through the ground the first day of March. I feel like I got robbed. I guess all the stouts and barleywines get a year of age on 'em this year at the minimum. When it's warm like this, I barely even crave beer at all. When I do...it's mostly IPA's.

I've been craving wild ales, porters, and even hefeweizens, which is unusual for me. And the trappist kick is hitting me, too. What I am NOT craving is the bevy of sweet, amateurish stouts and dark ales I kept getting all winter.

I totally agree!! Drinking the cheap stuff does wonders for the palatte. I mean, if all you try to drink is Pliny it won't taste as good as you remember, i.e. you hit the Pliny Wall!!!
