I do not want to homebrew, but like the idea of a custom beer for a special occasion and/or to impress guests. Does anyone know of any custom brewers out there where you can select a few characteristics and place an order? I came across custombeer.net (pretty cool site), but had a hard time finding this type of service. I mainly just found a bunch of custom labeling things.

I found some local places where you go in person, take a class, pick a recipe (or make your own), then place your order. Sounds cool, but I am looking for an easy online type arrangement. Help!

Hmm. Not to sure on that without having to buy a significant amount of it. Your best bet would probably be to make friends with a homebrewer. Or just use it as an excuse to start yourself

    Step 1- win lottery
Step 2- buy refrigerated warehouse and a bunch of kegs
Step 3- commit to buying the whole batch

The first step seems to be the biggest hurdle.

It's called Brewing on Premises. You need to see if there one near you. Although you do need to be there when the beer is being brewed, they supply everything else including bottles and labels.

You should check out this previous thread: http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/contract-brewing.144700/

Towards the end of the thread there is some discussion of brew on premise locations. You should look into that in your area.

    Those are still around?

Even so- I thought that you were essentially brewing from pre-assembled kits at those places and couldn't customize.

Yeah I thought all they pretty much did was supply all the equipment and such. You still have to actually have the know how to brew it yourself I thought.
